Natalie almost laughed. She hadn’t expected them to use a chemical agent. She was drugged too, her body feeling heavy and unresponsive. There was no way she could run. “Marshall, you can’t even stand. What makes you think I can run?”

A wry smile touched his lips. “Well, Natalie, at least we’ll have company on the road to hell.”

Natalie was speechless. Who wanted his company? She couldn’t die yet.

Get them in the car and head straight for the mountains.” He then leered at Natalie. “As for this lady, the boss wants her to be… taken care of. Find some strong guys for her.”

Marshall scowled. The man’s crudeness was ruining his suave demeanor. His dark eyes, shedding their usual playfulness, shot a cold glare at the man. Natalie’s own eyes glinted with icy fury. The same old trick, but still the most brutal one to use against a woman.

The two were dragged away unceremoniously. Marshall, however, seemed strangely calm, a careless smile on his devilishly handsome face. He looked over at the silent Natalie. “Natalie, you think this shared ordeal will blossom into true love?”
