**Chapter 557: Does Grandma Know You?**
“Ms. Morris, I went to Anne first. Please, don’t take it out on her…” Jonathan’s voice trailed off, abruptly interrupted by the harsh rasp of Nishay’s breath.
“Stop! Don’t you dare call me that, you…” The words hung in the air, thick with tension as Nishay staggered, her hand clutching her chest. Pain etched across her face, she leaned heavily against the wall, her body trembling.
“Grandma! Grandma, what’s happening?” Anneliese’s heart raced, her skin turning ghostly pale as dread washed over her. For a brief moment, fear paralyzed her, but instinct kicked in, propelling her forward.
Yet Jonathan was quicker. He moved with purpose, effortlessly lifting the frail woman into his arms. His voice, though steady, bore an urgency that cut through the panic enveloping Anneliese.
“Get the medication.”
Nishay’s eyelids squeezed shut, and beads of cold sweat formed on her furrowed brow. Anneliese’s mind spun, her breath hitching as terror clawed at her insides.
Jonathan’s command jolted her back to reality. She clenched her jaw, forcing her trembling hands into Nishay’s pockets, searching desperately.
“No… Grandma didn’t bring her meds…” Her voice wavered, barely above a whisper, filled with anxiety.
Jonathan strode purposefully toward the elevator, and Anneliese hurried to keep pace, her heart pounding as she pressed the button for the top floor repeatedly, as if sheer determination could make the elevator move faster.
The doors slid open, but still, she jabbed at the button, her desperation mounting.
Jonathan caught sight of her reddened fingertip and frowned slightly, his tone softening as he reassured her, “She’ll be fine. Remember the number I gave you? Call it now.”
The reminder flickered in her mind like a beacon of hope. Jonathan had arranged for an on-call doctor, just in case of emergencies like this.
With shaky hands, she scrambled for her phone, dialing the number with urgency. The call connected almost instantly, and a calm, professional voice greeted her, already aware of the situation.
“Mrs. Fullbuster? Is your grandma having a problem?”
“My grandma is unwell and agitated. Can you—”
“I’m on my way.” The doctor didn’t wait for her to finish, cutting through the chaos with efficiency.
As the elevator doors opened on the top floor, Anneliese dashed to unlock the door, Jonathan right on her heels.
They entered in quick succession, and Jonathan turned slightly, his voice low but commanding. “Leave it open. The doctor will arrive any second.”
Jessica, alerted by the commotion, threw open her door and gasped at the sight of Jonathan carrying Nishay. She hurried over, concern etched across her features.
“What happened?”
“Which room is Ms. Morris in?” Jonathan asked, his tone urgent yet steady.
