Breed Me. Daddy Alpha novel Chapter 278

~Lyra~

I knew I had messed up the second the words slipped out of my mouth. Or what. Do you have any idea how stupid that sounded, how reckless, how suicidal?

Because Damon stopped dead in his tracks the very moment I said it. His entire body stiffened beneath me, every muscle locking tight, like a predator that had just scented weakness in its prey.

He turned his head just enough for me to catch the sharp outline of his jaw and the way his lips parted like he was on the verge of snapping.

“You really want to test me, kitten?”

“You want to know what I will do if you keep running that filthy little mouth of yours?”

My wolf inside me screamed at me to back down, to swallow my pride, but I could not. I was trembling, tears still streaking my cheeks, but I could not stop myself.

My heart was hammering against my ribs and my body felt like it was on fire, and the worst part is that I did not even know if it was from fear or need.

I hated myself for it, hated the way my skin lit up under his voice, hated the way I was wet just from the way he growled at me.

I swear I had never hated a man the way I hated Damon in that moment, because he did not care that I was screaming at the top of my lungs, he did not care that I was pounding on his back like I was trying to knock him over, he did not care that I was kicking my legs so wildly my shoes nearly flew off.

He just kept walking, his arm ironclad around my thighs, his other hand steady, carrying me like I weighed nothing, like my tantrum meant absolutely nothing.

And the worst part was that the more he ignored me, the louder I got, because I could not stop myself.

“Damon, I swear this is the most humiliating thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life! Do you even realize what you’re doing?

“Do you realize I am upside down right now, and my hair is all over the place, and I probably look insane? I mean, who even carries their girlfriend like this, Damon? What are you trying to prove?

“That you’re strong? That you’re Alpha? Congratulations, we all already knew that, you don’t have to throw me over your shoulder like I’m some prize you won at a carnival! Put me down! Do you hear me? Put me down right now!”

And then it happened.

We heard a woman’s voice.

I could feel his grip tightening, his muscles hardening, and his voice dropped lower, more dangerous. “Kitten, not another word.”

But I could not stop. I could not shut up. My wolf inside me was screaming at me to be silent, but I was too humiliated, too panicked, too caught up in the heat of the moment.

“Do not tell me not to speak! Do not silence me in front of your mother! Do you even hear yourself? I am a human being, Damon, I have a mouth, I have words, and I am going to use them because this is not fair!

“Your mother is literally right there and you are acting like this is nothing, like carrying me upside down is completely normal, but it is not! Nothing about this is normal! Tell her who I am right now or I swear I will scream until the whole house knows my name!”

His growl ripped through the hall, vibrating against my ribs. “Keep running that filthy little mouth of yours in front of my mother and I swear, tomorrow will not come before I deal with you first.”

I twisted on his shoulder, clawing at his back, my hair flying in every direction, and the words just poured out of me, louder and faster with every breath.

“Ma’am, please! Please, help me! I am begging you! Do you see what your son is doing to me? He is carrying me like I am a bag of groceries! I swear I did not agree to this, I am not a volunteer in some circus act! I have legs, I can walk, I promise I know how to walk on my own two feet.
