Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 321

Zoe blinked in surprise at the comment. “Why would you say that?”

The girl grinned. “Because you two look so much alike!”

Zoe hesitated, then scooted closer to Willow, their faces side by side. “Do we really look that similar?”

Everyone nodded enthusiastically. The girl with the black-rimmed glasses chimed in, “At least a good bit. Ask your boyfriend if you don’t believe us.”

Zoe turned to Hamlin. He adjusted his glasses and offered a gentle smile. “There’s definitely a resemblance—especially your eyes.”

Zoe looked stunned for a moment, then glanced back at Willow, suddenly breaking into a delighted grin. “No wonder Professor Sheffield seems so fond of me! It’s because I look like you, Willa!”

Willow just smiled noncommittally. So this was where the setup was leading.

“Professor Sheffield?” someone asked, puzzled. “Which Professor Sheffield?”

“He teaches one of my electives,” Zoe explained cheerfully. “He’s Willa’s father.”

Hamlin’s eyes, hidden behind his glasses, flicked over to Willow. His smile remained polite, but there was a hint of satisfaction in his expression. “What a twist of fate. You two were meant to cross paths.”

Willow glanced up at him, her gaze cool and sharp. Hamlin’s smile faltered, freezing in place.

Had he imagined it? Or had Willow’s look just now carried a chill that cut right through him?

Before he could get a better read, Willow had already looked away, her voice calm as she replied, “I suppose fate brought us together.”

The kind of fate that leads a lamb right to the slaughter.

“So I treasure it,” she added.

Zoe seemed genuinely touched. “Me too!”

She picked up a cocktail from the table and offered it to Willow. “The bar owner made this one just for me—birthday special. Try it first, Willa, and tell me what you think.”

She nudged the glass closer, practically beaming.
