Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 297

Beasley was just about to speak when his phone buzzed in his suit pocket. He fished it out, surprised to see a message from Willow.

His heart pounded as he hurried to open it.

Since Willow had let him out of that figurative “doghouse,” this was the very first time she’d reached out to him on WhatsApp.

— [Don’t tell my dad about Dorothy’s heart transplant.]

Beasley stared at the message, stunned.

So Klein really didn’t know?

He’d always assumed the two of them—father and daughter—were just playing him, milking gratitude for all it was worth. Turns out, that was nothing more than his own arrogance and prejudice.

A rush of complicated emotions welled up inside him.

Clutching his phone tighter, his eyes darkened, and his voice turned hoarse. “Can you give me a chance to make things right?”

“What did you just say?” Klein looked at him in disbelief, almost laughing out of exasperation. “Another chance? So you can hurt Willow all over again?”

Beasley’s throat tightened painfully. “I was arrogant before. I did so many stupid, unforgivable things to her. But I truly want to make up for it now. I swear, I’ll never hurt her again. I promise!”

Klein shook his head without a moment’s hesitation. “Once a cheater, always a cheater. I know my daughter. She’d never give someone who betrayed her marriage a second chance. You may as well give up.”

“A cheater?” Confusion and surprise flickered in Beasley’s eyes. “I never cheated on her.”

Klein regarded him with thinly veiled contempt. “Can’t even admit to what you’ve done, huh? If you hadn’t had an affair, why would Willow be so determined to divorce you?”
