"Thank you." Willow accepted the phone, quickly dialing Juliette's number from memory.

It rang only once before Juliette picked up, sounding puzzled. "Hello? Who is this?"

"Lettie, it's me." Willow tried to keep her voice steady.

"Willa! Where are you right now? What did Beasley want? He didn't give you any trouble, did he?"

"I'm fine," Willow assured her. "But I need you to pick up my phone and bag for me. I'll head straight to your place."

"How soon can you get here?" Juliette asked, concern clear in her tone.

Willow checked the time. "Around two o'clock, I think."

Ian being here meant this was most likely his hospital. In her previous life, she knew exactly where he worked, so she could estimate how long it would take to get to Juliette's house from here.

Ian's composed, handsome face tightened just a bit at her words.

It was already past one-twenty in the afternoon. If Willow planned to arrive at her friend's place by two, that meant she'd be leaving right away. So she had never really intended to register and get checked out at all.
