Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 140

Beasley stared in surprise. "It wasn't you guys?"

Xander sounded just as puzzled. "No, it wasn't us. Our team hadn't even started working on it yet, and someone beat us to the punch. Honestly, at most we could've taken down the trending topic that just went up, but making sure no new ones popped up? That's nearly impossible. But we've been monitoring things for the last ten minutes—nothing's come back up. Every single related post has vanished, including the videos and photos of you and Miss Sheffield at the hospital. It's all been scrubbed clean."

"President Windsor, do you think the Chairman stepped in?" Xander finally ventured.

"It's possible." Beasley nodded. He was thinking the same thing. Once something hit the trending topics, it was only a matter of time before his mother found out.

Even if she didn't browse the internet herself, someone would definitely tell her. And if she knew, there was no way she'd just sit back and do nothing—she'd have Dad pull some strings and wipe everything off the net.

Dad was an old hand at this sort of thing.

Beasley gave a few more instructions. "Still, keep your eyes on it. If anything else comes up, deal with it first and then let me know."

"Understood, President Windsor."

The call had barely ended when York leaned in, curiosity written all over his face. "What's going on?"

Beasley slipped his phone into his pocket and turned toward him. "The trending topic's been taken down."

York visibly relaxed, letting out a breath.

"But I don't want something like this happening again," Beasley added.

Now that the crisis had passed, York's usual roguish grin returned. "Didn't you two already get divorced? It's not like there'll be a next time."

Beasley couldn't help but chuckle. "And what if we got back together? Would you show up again for round two?"
