Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 136

Dorothy soon caught wind of the news as well. While her friends were clueless about her son's marital situation, they all knew Beasley—and some had even met Willow.

So, one after another, they began calling to ask what was going on.

Dorothy had no good answers. Overwhelmed, she simply turned off her phone and refused every call.

Vincent entered the room, carrying a bowl of herbal broth. He paused when he saw his wife sitting alone on the couch, staring blankly at her phone, worry clouding her delicate features.

He set the bowl gently down on the coffee table and took a seat beside her. His voice was soft. "Sweetheart, Dr. Whitaker said it's best to drink this before bed—about two hours ahead. It's the perfect temperature now."

Dorothy looked up at him, her eyes full of anxiety. "I'm really worried about Willa. She looked so unwell in that video, and I didn't even know she was sick."

Vincent took her hand, reassuring her. "You were in the hospital yourself at the time, remember? Don't be too hard on yourself. If Willa had been seriously ill, more than a month has passed—surely she's seen a doctor and recovered by now."

Dorothy shook her head. "Beasley told me he saw her get sick twice right in front of him. That can't be something minor!"

Vincent's brow furrowed, concern sharp in his eyes. "Could it be that Willa's pregnant, and Beasley doesn't want the baby? Maybe that's what led to the divorce?"

He remembered how much Beasley had resisted the marriage in the first place. Vincent wouldn't put it past his stubborn son to do something so reckless.

Dorothy gave a bitter, helpless smile. "No, that's not it." Then, with a hollow ache in her voice, she asked, "Do you know why I finally agreed to their divorce?"
