Blizzard, First Love and a Wife Who Finally Snaps novel Chapter 369

Adrian pushed her out of the room. “Since you know I’m your brother, stop bothering me. Can’t you see I’m dying?”

He was at a loss for words.

Without giving Catherine a chance to reply, he shut the door and locked it.

Daniel Price, standing guard outside, could only pretend not to see any of it.

Catherine banged on the door a couple of times before storming off in a huff.

Inside the room.

Adrian sat down next to Isabel and asked, “How much time do I have left?”

Isabel ignored him.

Adrian actually laughed.

He rarely laughed. Maybe it was because he was dying that he felt nothing mattered anymore.

The persona he had maintained for so long seemed to be crumbling.

“No matter how much time is left, I’m not getting a divorce. Waiting for me to die must be boring, so let’s talk.”

They had rarely had a moment where they could just sit and talk quietly.

For the first two years of their marriage, Adrian was abroad. For the next four, he was barely home for more than a few days at a time.

Isabel had tried to build a relationship with him, but he was never willing. No matter what she did, he met it with scorn.

Back then, she had loved him. Whenever she saw him getting angry, she would quietly back down to avoid provoking him.

To think she had put up with it for six years… Isabel had to admire her own resilience.

“I only have one request: be good to our son. When I’m gone, you’ll be his only guardian.”

“I know you’re probably thinking the Blackwells will make sure he’s fed and clothed, but that’s different. You’re his mother, after all. And he knows he was wrong now.”

Isabel let out a cold laugh. “So now I’m his mother again.”

“You can’t keep blaming him for this,” Adrian said. “It was my fault, too. I’ll take full responsibility. Just don’t hold a grudge against him.”

Isabel glanced at the time, apparently too tired to argue. She leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes.

Adrian watched her for a long time before continuing. “I’m used to you doing all the talking. It’s strange now that you’re silent.”
