“Such a troublemaker,” Caitlin muttered as she felt his restless hand. She gave him a playful smack, but Sebastian caught her hand and pulled her into his arms.

Summer in Departure City was beautiful. Along the clean streets, tall Jacaranda trees were planted, their purple–blue flowers in full bloom.

As Caitlin looked out from the car, she admired the sprawling, dreamlike purple ocean of flowers. The view was magnificent, yet calming, and mysterious.

Why did her mother love the Jacaranda so much? Was it because the flower was from her grandmother’s hometown? Or was it because of the

flower’s melancholy meaning, symbolizing waiting for love in despair?

Or perhaps it symbolized something about her mother’s own experiences?

Caitlin couldn’t shake off the confusion in her heart. The answers would only come when she found her mother.

were underway.

Standing outside, the bodyguards of The Yuncey Family greeted invited guests, each holding their invitation cards, while media outlets were buzzing with excitement. Everyone had heard that The Yuncey Family had finally developed the legendary Fragrance Garments, and they were eager to cover the event.

By 9 AM, most of the invited guests had arrived, and the host of the event took to the stage

The audience clapped as Douglas, wearing a stylish dark gray suit, and Carmen, in a white business dress, both walked up to the stage and began their speeches.

Douglas, as the CEO of The Yuncey Family, welcomed the guests and briefly explained the purpose of the event. He then handed the floor over to Carmen to host the rest of the launch.

Carmen took the microphone and thanked the attendees, then proceeded to introduce the characteristics of the Fragrance Garments. A screen behind her displayed several historical anecdotes related to the garments.

Just as the crowd was applauding, a loud and discordant voice rang out from the entrance.

The words shocked the room into silence.

People turned their heads toward the door, where a group of individuals walked in. At the front was a woman in a flowing black dress, a wide–brimmed black hat obscuring her face, but her presence was powerful.
