"I didn't see her. Let's get him under hand first!"
There were four men. One of them had already been subdued. The remaining three were quite angry because Haiden didn't get into their trap.
They took out knives.
Valery didn't come out from under the bed. She knew what she should do now and had clear thoughts. Haiden was from the Alberton family and obviously would not lose in fighting. Valery knew that she might be a burden to Haiden if she appeared now, so she stayed under the bed obediently.
She stayed there until Haiden looked down at her and said, "Come out."
Only then did she quickly climb out.
Four men were lying on the ground. Both their arms and legs were broken.
Haiden's assistant, Gerald, ran over in a hurry and said, "Boss, yes, it's our goods!"
"What goods?" Valery looked at Gerald.
Gerald took out a cheongsam, "I found this in their room. It was from our stock of goods."
Valery took it over and examined it carefully. "Yes, yes, it's from that batch of goods." She looked at Gerald. "How did you know that they have our goods?"
"It wasn't me." Gerald pointed at Haiden and said, "Boss found it."
"How did you know?" Valery asked.
"When I came into the hotel, I passed by their room and saw it," Haiden said concisely. "When they were playing cards, the cheongsam had a section outside behind them.
With just a glance, Haiden could determine that it was the material from his factory, which made Valery respect Haiden much.
"Where are the other goods?" Haiden walked to the man whose arms had been dislocated, squatted down, and asked, "Where are the other goods?"
"I don't know." The man was in so much pain that his entire face twisted, but he refused to say anything.
"Take her out," Haiden said.
Gerald responded and let Valery leave the room.
"What is he going to do?" Valery asked hesitantly.
"It's fine. Our boss has his way to make them speak." Gerald heaved a long sigh of relief. "You just have to wait patiently. I was so lucky to have found it the moment I arrived. I thought I would have to wait here for a few days."
A mournful wail came from inside.
Valery could not help but open the door. Inside the door, Haiden was still half-squatting there. He seemed to be listening to something. A moment later, he turned around with a few drops of blood on his face.
"Go and find a car." He stood up and walked to the bathroom to wash his face.
Valery looked at the man lying on the ground. His arm had been broken, and his mouth was full of blood. He gasped in pain, and blood was still pouring out of his mouth.
Now she understood.
It was just an illusion.
It was the illusion that he had painstakingly built up for disguising himself.
They stayed at the police station for two hours. After dealing with all the matters, Gerald found back the batch of goods they had lost.
Valery let out a sigh of relief. The first thing she did was to call Andrew.
Haiden went to buy food. When the first ray of the morning sun shone down, he saw Valery smiling and happily talking on the phone.
It was the first time he saw this girl smiling.
She looked quite good when she smiled.
"Boss?" After dealing with the goods, Gerald rented a car and drove back. He stopped in front of Haiden and asked, "Are we leaving now?"
"Let's go." Haiden stood in place and looked in the direction of Valery. After a moment, he added, "Wait for her to finish the call."
"Okay." Gerald also took a look and smiled, "She must be on the phone with her boyfriend. It's the first time I see her smile like that."
Haiden grunted. Then, he turned around and got into the car.
