Billionaire Lost to His Surrogate In A Love Game novel Chapter 254

Madeleine rose to her feet and said, "I’m nobody, and I don’t dare to be mad at you. You’re my boss. If I offended you, I would have nothing to live on." Suddenly, Madeleine changed the topic as she spoke. "Mr. Harrison, since you don’t have the plan to release me, I’m going back now. I was writing all night long and I need to sleep."

Mr. Harrison asked as Madeleine was about to leave, "Did you offend the Fletchers?"

Madeleine paused. Now she realized what was going on as she recalled the past.

She got straight to the point. "So, Mrs. Fletcher puts pressure on you?"

"Exactly. She promises to offer me so much if I fire you. Seems that you pissed her off."

Madeleine gritted her teeth in anger. She knew Gwylan wouldn’t let her off so easily, but that old woman underestimated her at the same time. Even if she was fired by this company, many other publishing companies would be vying with each other for her. Her books sold, and she had readers from all corners of the country. If she filled her fans in on the truth, even a little, they would light a bonfire in the lobby of the Fletcher Group’s office building. It wouldn’t destroy them, but could at least serve as a warning.

Working for a company was simply a fallback position for Madeleine. Even though no company wanted her, she could still publish her works online. Sometimes, it was easier for online novels to go viral. Presumably, Gwylan had really looked down upon her.

"I had a little fight with her in the hospital the other day. I thought it was over, but who knows somebody still keeps it in mind." Madeleine shrugged and exclaimed with a casual air.

Amazement gleamed in the eyes of the man sitting in the chair. He asked in disbelief, "A fight?"

Her cheeks burning, Madeleine explained in embarrassment, "That old woman is a bitch. She was asking for it."

Mr. Harrison recovered himself immediately and smiled, "Madeleine, I’m impressed. I thought all you had was a sharp tongue, but I didn’t expect you to be so violent. Now I’ve learned more about you. Great."

Great? What was so great?

Madeleine failed to grasp what he meant for a moment.

"Mr. Harrison, I’m sorry for what happened to Mrs. Fletcher, and I’m sorry for getting you involved. If you don’t want to offend the Fletcher family, we can cancel the contract right now. I don’t make so much money as you do, but at least I can support myself until I sign my next contract. Besides, if you release me now, I’ll be awarded damages."

"Have I ever said I would release you? I think nothing of the Fletcher family."

Madeleine stared at Mr. Harrison in astonishment, as if she was saying, "You’re full of bullshit, Mr. Harrison."

Mr. Harrison didn’t give an explanation, but changed the subject. "From now on, when there’s only two of us, don’t call me Mr. Harrison."

Carson got up at once and blurted, "Be careful!" Hardly had he finished his words than he rushed up to Madeleine and steadied her.

Staring at Carson at her fingertips, Madeleine blushed even more profusely. She panicked, reached out and gave him a big shove, knocking him against the chair.

His hand covering his waist, Carson called through clenched teeth, "Madeleine Lowe."

Madeleine opened her mouth wide in amazement and asked immediately, "Mr… Mr. Harrison, are you alright?"

She fought like a tiger against Gwylan, but with Carson, all she could do was panic. What a coward she was.

At this moment, Carson grabbed Madeleine’s hands and kissed her on the lips by surprise. Madeleine was stunned, her eyes widened. It was after over ten seconds that she pushed him away without thinking. Oddly, her first reaction was not giving him a slap. Instead, she rushed towards the door, opened it and ran away in a fluster.

Watching Madeleine running away, Carson couldn’t help but touch his lips, a faint smile spreading across his face.

"Madeleine, you’ll be mine one day. You’ll never get away. I’ve given you lots of chances for the past year, and I thought you would feel my heart, but unexpectedly, you were like a log. You’ve created plenty of romances, but you are quite slow regarding your own love life. If I didn’t take actions, I’m afraid I wouldn’t get you the rest of my life."
