Cora laughed out loud, getting too thrilled to tear her wound. She held a deep breath because it hurt so much and went much pale.
Zachariah carefully laid her on bed and pretended to ask in a concerning manner, “Have a good rest. Everything will be fine. We will have child in the future.”
Cora smiled kindly and grabbed his hand tightly, saying, “Zach, stay with me. I cannot fall asleep without you.”
Zachariah nodded. Perhaps it was because abortion and severe bleeding, Cora was so exhausted that she quickly fell asleep.
Zachariah slowly pulled out his hands under Cora’s after assuring she was sleeping tightly. Seeing he was about to leave, Mrs. Fletcher hurriedly said, “Zach, she is not in a good condition now and is so fragile after losing her baby. Why don’t you stay her to accompany her?”
Zachariah nodded and replied, “I will stay with her, auntie.”
Mrs. Chambers looked at her daughter in bed and her mind was in a mess. She remained silent for a while and said, “Zach, she’s already awake from surgery now. Can you drive me back home? My heart aches a bit and I am afraid I cannot drive home on my own.”
Zachariah asked, “Mom, does malady strike you again? Maybe I can call Mr. Kenelm here to examine?”
“There’s no need to. You just need to send me back and I suppose I will be better later.” Mrs. Chambers replied.
Zachariah nodded.
Mr. Fletcher also said with great concern, “Helena, your body is always not in a good condition. Why don’t you let Mr. Kenelm here to check? I’m afraid there will be something wrong with your body.”
Mrs. Chambers shook her head.
Mrs. Fletcher also suggested, “Helena, don’t blame me for the harsh words I am going to say. Why did malady strike you after Cora just came back? You have watched her to grown-up. Well, you have really taken a great pain to let Zach leave. Can’t you see that they really love each other?”
Mrs. Chambers laughed for taking her words ridiculous. She didn’t want to waste her time by arguing with her.
She directly commanded Zachariah, “Zach, take me back home.”
Mrs. Chambers glanced at him and said, “Get on.”
On their way back, Mrs. Chambers took a deep breath and asked angrily, “Zach, tell me the truth. Are you not going to marry Cora?”
“I am planning to. I have already called an Italian designer to design her wedding dress and it will be finished in a month. I just want to make sure whether the Fletcher family will agree or not. I also don’t know whether I am willing to marry her. To be honest, I can hardly love her the way I did five years ago.”
“Stop covering up. Just tell me are you planning to get divorced with Ophelia?”
Mrs. Chambers stared at him. She got so furious that it was hard to express her anger through words.
“You are really a fool, Zach. Ophelia is better than Cora in many ways. Why are you still sticking with Cora? She has abandoned you and went to Europe a few years ago. I won’t interrupt your life if she is a perfect girl. However, in my opinion, she’s nothing better expect for appearance and family background. She’s a really stubborn girl, spending extravagantly and doesn’t know how to take are of others. Ophelia is way better than her. I can’t figure out why you are still in love with Cora.”
Zachariah was in a dilemma.
