Mason hadn't expected Oscar to take such a stance. "Wow, firm words from the Geller family! How interesting! But have you considered the consequences of offending the Keaton family?"
Mason scanned the room, causing most people to avoid his eyes.
However, when his gaze landed on Daniel, the latter remained calm, meeting his eyes directly.
"I'll remember what happened today. Mr. Geller Senior, we'll meet again!"
Mason cupped his hands mockingly, leaning closer to Charlene. "Just you wait. What I set my eyes on won't escape me. You'll regret what happened today, woman. You've angered me!"
Mason glared at Charlene, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Safe travels, Mr. Keaton," said Daniel with a faint smile.
"Just you wait!" Mason spat, then turned and left.
The atmosphere in the banquet hall grew tense.
Oscar clapped his hands, breaking the silence. Smiling, he uttered, "Everyone, please enjoy the evening. Eat, drink, and have fun!"
"Ah, Mr. Geller Senior, I have something to do at home. Apologies, but I'll take my leave now."
"Mr. Geller Senior, we'll be heading out as well. Wishing you good health!"
A flurry of awkward coughs followed as guests cupped their hands in farewell and quickly departed.
Oscar didn't stop them. Instead, he watched them leave with a smile.
"These people are so disrespectful!" Charlene fumed as she watched them go.
Oscar waved her off. "Everyone has their reasons. Besides, the Keaton family is the top family in Gimlin. It's normal for people to be afraid."
"Sorry for disrupting your celebration, Mr. Geller Senior. I'm not going to hold back, then," Daniel said smilingly.
Oscar chuckled. "Let's eat!"
While he held some fear of the Keaton family's influence, he had already made his decision.
There was no need for regret. Betting on someone was always a calculated risk, and Oscar didn't lack the courage to follow through.
"Shut up! You whore! You're in no position to negotiate with me!" Mason shed his usual facade of charm, revealing the cruelty and violence lurking underneath.
His sudden savagery terrified the woman, who struggled desperately.
Mason pinned her neck with one hand, watching as her face turned purple and blue. A flicker of sadistic pleasure crossed his face.
Just as the woman was nearly out of breath, Mason finally released his grip.
"It seems you have a lot of experience, Mr. Keaton." Daniel's voice suddenly rang out.
The unexpected voice startled Mason so badly that he nearly lost his composure.
"Daniel?" Mason turned around, disbelief written across his face as he saw Daniel leaning against the doorframe.
"Mr. Keaton, watch out!" Adam suddenly rushed in from the hallway, positioning himself protectively in front of Mason.
Though Adam appeared to be quite old, his movements were incredibly swift. He aimed his fists at Daniel as he adjusted his breathing, preparing to strike.
