Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 254

Some viewers found the effect of the miracle essence hard to believe. But before they could voice their doubts, the video ended with clips of real people using the product. The results weren't instant, but they were enough to convince those who had been affected by the youthify cream.

Thus, the backlash against Geller Cosmetics quickly subsided under Daniel's decisive actions.

Jennifer looked at him with a conflicted expression.

"I guess that's the end of this matter. It even gave our company a boost in sales," Daniel said with a smile.

Charlene finally relaxed her furrowed brows. "I've already received quite a few manufacturing partnership inquiries, but I turned down a few of them outright."

She then glanced at Jennifer, who immediately hung her head in shame.

"Go and refill my coffee," Daniel said with a wave of his hand.

"Yes, Mr. Ashcroft," Jennifer replied instantly, not daring to disobey.

Charlene hesitated, wanting to say something but holding back. In the end, she sighed and asked, "What do you plan to do with Jennifer's company?"

"I'm going to let it rot!" Daniel replied with a scoff. "Those people never planned to back her—they just needed a scapegoat. Now, the company's nothing more than an empty shell. The only real problem is dealing with the loan sharks breathing down her neck."

Jennifer, in the middle of making coffee, trembled slightly at his words. Those loan sharks wouldn't let her off easily.

What confused her the most was how she had been so blind back then. There were so many red flags in the contract, yet she had signed it without a second thought.

Looking back now, it was obvious that Zidane had set her up.

"Hurry up with my coffee!" Daniel snapped when he noticed her spacing out.

"Yes, Mr. Ashcroft!" Jennifer quickly responded and went back to what she was doing. She didn't dare to show any resentment. After all, she brought all of this on herself.

"Hello, Mr. Ellison," Damon said with a bitter smile.

But before he could continue, Alden cut him off. "Oh, you don't need to address me that way. I'm working for Mr. Ashcroft now, and I only have a handful of guys under me. So no need to be so formal."

Damon frowned.

Alden, however, continued with a smile, "But things are about to change. Tell the guys—I'm back."

His grin was wide, but all Damon saw were his ice-cold eyes.

It was a declaration of war. Alden was preparing to challenge Obsidian group.

In the past, Damon wouldn't have thought twice about it. But Daniel's power had made him hesitate—especially after seeing the sorry state Omari was in. It shook him enough to make him question whether he even had the guts to fight back.
