Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 242

Back then, Jennifer had seized the Ashcroft family's assets, but every contract she signed still bore Daniel's name. At the time, Daniel had been in a state of mental instability, completely unaware of what was written on those documents, leaving Jennifer free to call the shots.

But now, this contract was undeniable proof that there was no cutting Daniel out of the equation.

"What?" Randall looked at Daniel in confusion, momentarily unsure of the relationships between him and the others.

Jennifer also came to her senses, her expression darkening.

"Mr. Ashcroft, Greenridge Syndicate has taken a liking to this place, so would you be willing to step aside?" Gerald suddenly asked.

"No," Daniel replied bluntly, showing no regard for Gerald's status.

Gerald couldn't help but frown. "Mr. Ashcroft, I suggest you think carefully about this."

"No need. You can get lost now," Daniel said coldly, waving his hand dismissively.

Gerald had never expected to be treated so disrespectfully by Daniel. His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at him.

Zidane, on the other hand, had anticipated this outcome. He was more than happy to watch Daniel provoke a powerful enemy. What else could this be but a death wish?

"Daniel, are you sure you know who you're talking to?" Gerald tapped his folding fan against his palm, producing a crisp snap.

Daniel glanced at him and scoffed coldly. "What? Is Greenridge Syndicate that famous? Besides, don't you know that grandmasters are forbidden from entering Qranross?"

Gerald's expression changed slightly. "Well, well! You dare disrespect the Greenridge Syndicate like this? If that's the case, don't blame me for what happens next!"

With a loud shout, he raised his hand and brought it down in front of him. The mentees of Greenridge Syndicate, who had been waiting impatiently behind him, drew their swords closed in around Daniel in a sword array.

Randall was completely dumbfounded. He had seen this coming—but not like this. There was no way he'd dare step in now. Terrified, he scrambled to the side, desperate to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

Jennifer couldn't help but glance at Daniel. At that moment, she finally realized just how terrifyingly strong he was. Yet, there was also a flicker of resentment in her eyes. Everything that belonged to Daniel should have been hers! She refused to accept this.

It was a good thing she wasn't the same person she used to be. After everything she had been through—and with the resources she now had—she was finally in a position to stand on equal footing with him. She was determined to make Daniel return to her side!

Zidane, on the other hand, had far simpler thoughts. The moment he saw Daniel clash with Gerald, he knew his goal had been achieved. Of course, this wasn't enough. The real show would only begin if Daniel killed Gerald.
