As night fell, Amelia was unbearably annoyed by the mosquitoes.
In a daze, Amelia suddenly woke up and quickly sat upright. "Ah! How did I fall asleep?"
At that moment, a pale face drifted past the car window.
"Ah!" Amelia's eyes widened in shock, and she covered her mouth with her hand.
But when she focused her gaze, that pale face seemed to have never appeared at all.
"Was that an illusion?"
Amelia furrowed her brows, and then her expression sharpened. "No! There's danger!"
Remembering her mission, she immediately pushed open the car door.
The night wind was biting, making her shiver as she scanned her surroundings under the dim streetlights.
Not far from her, a pair of eerie green eyes emerged within the greenery. They were filled with disdain.
"Idiot! Your vitality is strong, but what a pity..." the man muttered under his breath.
He then lifted his head to look toward Daniel's villa, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes.
For the Shadowspire Syndicate to invite him out, this matter must be quite interesting.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, the man shifted his position, evading Amelia's line of sight as he approached Daniel's villa.
Just as he thought everything was going smoothly, a sharp voice suddenly rang out behind him.
"Stop! Hands up! Do as you're told! This is an investigation!"
"What?" The man's pupils shrank as he turned around in disbelief, staring at Amelia.
"Die!" The man gathered energy in his palm as he reached for Amelia's head.
His eyes gleamed with excitement, as if he could already see Amelia's skull being pierced through, blood splattering everywhere.
But just as his hand was about to touch her, Amelia suddenly lifted her head.
"Hmm?" The man sensed something was wrong. In the next instant, Amelia vanished before his eyes.
"What?" The man's face twisted in shock, but before he could react, a sharp pain exploded in his abdomen.
"You!" He looked down at his stomach, horrified.
Amelia had rammed her head straight into his gut, all the while shouting, "This is for not cooperating! This is for not cooperating!"
This was probably the most humiliating death ever recorded in the Shadowspire Syndicate's history.
