Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 208

"Impossible!" Daniel rejected her flatly.

The genetic longevity formula didn't mean much to him. After all, he already had the ability to cultivate immortality. With the Celestial Soul Pearl, he could even return to another world.

This meant that even if he couldn't cultivate in this world, he could still enhance his strength in another realm. But right now, strength wasn't his priority—what mattered more was resolving the emotional burden weighing on his heart.

"Mr. Ashcroft, you don't have to turn me down so quickly." Willow had already anticipated his response and chuckled.

She went on, "Currently, the Riverston Group has poached quite a few technical personnel from your company. What I'm asking for isn't the genetic longevity formula, but rather a shared benefit from its results."

"You should give it some thought." She stood and added, "I should be going now. If I linger any longer, I'll only hold back the women waiting for a chance to approach you. It would be a shame to hinder your romantic prospects."

It was hard to dislike Willow, even if she was the Keaton family's heiress.

Daniel shook his head helplessly. It was true that several female celebrities in the room occasionally kept glancing his way.

Charlene soon returned to his side. She spoke between heavy breaths. "This banquet is exhausting."

Though she claimed to be tired, the smile on her face was impossible to hide.

"Looks like you had a fruitful time," Daniel remarked with a smile.

She nodded, then took a bite of the honey cornbread in his hand. "I just closed two deals. It's all thanks to our product's effectiveness. With competition like that, we had no choice but to find new ways to stay ahead."

She meant the partnership between Jennifer and the Hibari Corporation. With Hibari's brand being so well-known, it was bound to shake up the market for their youth cream.

Daniel acknowledged with a nod.

On the tray lay her new album.

As with most charity auctions, the items were donated by the guests, who would bid on and buy back their own items, with all proceeds going to charity.

The main focus was networking and goodwill, though if someone were truly interested in an item, the bidding would certainly drive the price up.

Mikayla's influence was undeniable, and this album held significant sentimental value.

"This is Mikayla's first release under our label. Let's keep it in the company collection," Charlene said with a smile, raising her hand. "One million!"

"One and a half million!"

A voice cut in the moment she finished. Charlene turned—Jennifer was smirking right at her.
