Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 141

Daniel couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as he looked over the ingredients that had been delivered to him.

"This is really convenient!"

He knew all too well the pain of gathering ingredients. Although Taylor Apothecary had some decent stock, it was still just ordinary traditional herbs. But here at the Immortal Syndicate, these were genuine spiritual herbs!

Some of the items he had only tentatively inquired about had been delivered without hesitation. And one of the benefits of having the Golden Immortal Token was that Daniel didn't even need to pay a single cent for them!

"Daniel, are you planning to refine pills?" Isaac couldn't help but ask as he looked at Daniel.

"That's right!" Daniel smiled, picked up the tray, and walked into the alchemy room.

Isaac's mind was in turmoil. Daniel knew how to refine pills? The thought made his breathing grow heavy.

Charlene, on the other hand, didn't seem surprised at all. After all, it was perfectly normal to her that Daniel would be capable of such things.

Just as Daniel began refining pills, Regina arrived in the courtyard.

"Ms. Geller, would you be interested in going shopping with me?" Regina asked, looking at Charlene.

"Huh? Can I?" Charlene was tempted.

Everything here was beyond her wildest imagination, and besides, what woman could resist the allure of shopping?

"Of course!" Regina's eyes sparkled with amusement. "With me here, there won't be any problems."

"If you want to go, then go," Daniel said from the alchemy room.

He casually stored it in a bottle, then turned his attention to the remaining ingredients. Even the most skilled alchemist could make mistakes, so the Immortal Syndicate had provided him with enough ingredients for two attempts.

No sense in letting them go to waste. Daniel began combining the remaining ingredients to refine a special type of pill—the Blood Surge Pill.

This pill was considered an unorthodox remedy. Unlike the Blood Energy Pill he had just refined, the Blood Surge Pill could temporarily boost one's cultivation by a full level, causing one's blood energy to surge while numbing the body to pain.

However, once the effects wore off, the user's meridians would suffer damage. It was typically used only in life-or-death situations as a last resort.

Daniel wasn't sure if there was a market for such a pill, but as a life-saving measure, it wouldn't come cheap. After all, a desperate gamble was still better than certain death.

Isaac had been waiting outside the entire time, muttering to himself under his breath.

"Mr. Hayes, are you okay?" Daniel asked curiously as he stepped out.
