As soon as Daniel walked in with Charlene, a relieved smile appeared on Isaac's face. He immediately stood up and said, "You're right on time, Daniel."
"I bet you were getting impatient, Mr. Hayes." Daniel chuckled.
Isaac glanced at Charlene.
"This is Charlene, the CEO of our company. She's planning to buy some items at the assembly. Ms. Geller, this is Mr. Hayes from Southgate Alley. He's quite an influential figure in this area." Daniel introduced them to each other with a smile.
A hint of surprise flashed in Isaac's eyes at the word "CEO". The idea of someone like Daniel working for others seemed unlikely. As the eldest son of the Ashcroft family, he would never stoop to something like that.
His gaze shifted to Charlene's face, and a look of understanding flickered in his expression. He suddenly realized that this was Daniel's type.
Still, he wouldn't spoil Daniel's mood. "Ms. Geller, if you managed to bring Daniel under your wing, you must be quite capable. I look forward to working with you."
"You flatter me, Mr. Hayes," Charlene replied politely.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Daniel could hardly wait and asked. "When does the Immortal Assembly begin?"
Isaac gave him a look. "We can head there now. I'll take you to the location of the assembly. Daniel, are you planning to bring only Ms. Geller with you?" he asked.
Daniel nodded. "Would you like to come with me too, Mr. Hayes?"
Isaac let out an awkward laugh. "To be honest, I'm being watched, so I can't go myself. That's why I entrusted this to you."
Daniel had already suspected as much. Now that Isaac had admitted it, he had nothing more to say.
Nothing came for free after all. Risks were part of the deal.
Of course, even though she said that, she was secretly delighted. Daniel hadn't mentioned the five-million-dollar pass at all. He had only said he was taking her somewhere fun. This was by far the most expensive pass she had ever heard of.
"Ms. Geller, let me correct that," Isaac said with a chuckle. "This year's Immortal Assembly is different. There are some extraordinary items up for grabs. From what I've heard, a single entry is now going for seven million dollars. The demand is sky-high, and it's practically impossible to get one."
Daniel shot Isaac a glance. This was practically a subtle way of praising him. And he did it so seamlessly. No wonder he made a name for himself in Southgate Alley.
"There are things you'll have to experience sooner or later. It's not about the money," Daniel said with a grin, turning down Charlene's suggestion. "Besides, I was counting on you to cover the bill."
Charlene's cheeks flushed at his teasing, but the sweetness in her heart was undeniable.
"Alright, I might as well broaden my horizons," she agreed.
Daniel stood up. "Mr. Hayes, this token originally belonged to you. I'll leave the extra spot for you to decide."
