Joshua was no fool; he immediately realized it.
"Colin! What the hell did you do to Emma?" Joshua leaped forward, pouncing on Colin.
His overwhelming presence scared Susan into screaming in panic.
Colin was also stunned. He hadn't expected his carefully planned scheme to be exposed.
At this point, he could only cling to his identity. "Joshua, are you insane? I'm Emma's attending physician. How could I possibly harm her? Don't listen to baseless accusations!"
"If he shouldn't listen to me, should he listen to a scumbag like you instead?" Daniel sneered as he walked over to Emma's side.
He raised his hand, showing a silver needle in his palm.
Colin's heart jolted violently. He didn't know what Daniel was planning to do, but he knew he couldn't let Emma wake up.
Otherwise, he would be the one not waking up forever.
"What are you doing? Stop! Joshua, are you really going to let him desecrate Emma's body like this?" Colin was starting to lose his composure.
Daniel merely let out a cold chuckle. "Did you really think you could deceive everyone with just a little fake death drug?"
A glimmer of hope flashed in Joshua's eyes. "Fake death?"
"What else?" Daniel didn't bother explaining to Joshua.
Joshua was usually smart, but the moment something involved Emma, he'd become utterly frantic.
In other words, he still had a lot to learn.
Daniel swiftly inserted the needle into Emma's median point, twisting it gently.
A single drop of dark blood oozed out, and the purplish-black color on Emma's lips instantly turned red.
Daniel wiped the blood away and commanded in a firm voice, "Wake up!"
Emma suddenly took a deep breath and slowly started breathing again.
When Joshua saw this, he immediately understood that Daniel had been telling the truth all along.
Daniel patted Emma's head. "Get some rest. You'll recover by tomorrow. Then you can do whatever you want."
"Really?" Emma's eyes brightened.
"Yes." Daniel nodded, smiling.
"Can you tell me how you feel about Dr. Bennett?"
"Not good!" Emma shook her head, looking a little frightened.
Seeing her reaction, Daniel immediately made a judgment in his heart. "Alright, I'll go check on things outside. Once I'm back, I'll continue treating you, okay?"
"Okay!" Emma quickly nodded.
Daniel approached Susan and dragged her outside as well.
Outside the room, Colin was kneeling on the ground. His facade of confidence and warmth were completely shattered.
