After caressing his neck, Alicia's eyelids became even heavier. "I won't lose weight! I'll crush you to death. And I want... a baby! I won't lose weight!"

Listening to the soft, hazy muttering in his ear, Frederick's smile grew wider as he channeled more strength to carry her steadily.

He carried her all the way back to their room. Every step was taken cautiously. When he reached their bed side, he panted tiredly.

"Sweetheart, if you continue to grow horizontally, I really..."

While he joked, Frederick tilted his head. The calm and stable breathing could be heard from his side. She looked so peaceful and innocent, as if she was sleeping like a child. He paused, not finishing his sentence, as a grin plastered on his face.

"If I can't carry you, I can still hang you over my shoulder! No matter how self-willed you are, I will still spoil you like how I always have!" He said silently.

Frederick grabbed her wrist and slowly laid her down on the bed. He positioned the pillows, took off her shoes and adjusted her sleeping posture. After that, he gently covered her with a blanket. He stroked the hair on her temples and shook his head.

"You were just throwing tantrums a few moments ago, but now you're sleeping so soundly? You're getting more and more heartless..." He muttered defeatedly.

He let out a sigh. After sitting by the bed for a long time, he got up and walked out of the door.

In a blink of an eye, it was time to go to work. In the conference room, Frederick led the meeting routinely. However, his phone kept lighting up with notifications. Danica had been harassing him with many different numbers, which is why he chose to decline all calls from unknown numbers.

"Yes, we need to go up two more points for this year's performance!"

After compiling the reports and making a rough estimate, Frederick stated his final decision.

"Since it's a new area, the welfare policy should be improved. The basic salary in the early stage will not change, and the 15 percent annual income of every department will be given to the employees as a bonus! In short, retain talents and establish a solid foundation. Let's cap this at three years first, and well see from there!"

He didn't believe that no one would be willing to go there! Wasn't it just a slightly remote location?

Frederick turned off his phone. It was all in the past, yet his mind was still in a constant mess because of it.

Holger nodded his head helplessly.

Holger pointed at the pictures on the table and continued his explanation.

"I checked Natalie's background. There's nothing suspicious about her! She is an orphan, abandoned by her parents since she was a child. She was lucky enough to have gotten adopted by a couple with two sons! Who would have thought that there would be such a mark on her face? It wasn't that obvious when she was young, but as she grew older, it became more obvious. Naturally, she was not likable.
