......
But sometimes, it was so strange. The more she knew that it was impossible, the more hopeful she was.
She had come here to confront him, but she remembered their previous agreement. It was a special day in a foreign country. All of a sudden, Carolien still hoped that she could spend the day with him. No matter what happened, it would not be any worse!
With this in mind, Carolien first made a video call to her family. After that, she went out for a stroll and enjoyed herself. Originally, she planned to let Elijah remember it on his own, or she would remind him if he forgot. She didn't expect that even after noon, there was still nothing from him. She couldn't wait anymore, so she took the initiative to send a message to him, saying that she wanted to see him in the evening and hoped that he could come over.
Originally, she didn't give an exact time to provide some flexibility, but she didn't expect that a one word reply— "Okay!"
Staring at this short reply, Carolien was stunned for a long time. A few minutes had passed, and she deleted them one by one. After all, they had been together for a long time, so she knew a little about him. Generally, this kind of simple and quick reply meant two things. One was that he was busy, and the other was that it was just a casual reply. For Elijah, it was normally the first scenario, since it was rare for him to be perfunctory. He usually refused directly.
Therefore, she didn't move for a long time, and her mind was a little empty. In the end, all the emothiong resulted into a faint bitter smile: So, in fact, he didn't remember what day it was at all.
No matter how much she said, it seemed meaningless. Carolien put her phone away.
She thought that he would at least give her a call after finishing his work, but when it was eight o'clock in the evening, even after she had ordered food and cake, her phone was so quiet that she began to doubt whether it was broken or not.
As time went by, Carolien felt sad and restless. She walked to the balcony and looked at the stars. When she came back to her senses, she found that it was almost 10 o'clock.
10 o'clock?
There were still two hours left before her birthday was over!
However, the cell phone was still quiet, and there was no sounds at the door.
Although she had expected it, the closer she got to the ending, the more uncomfortable and annoyed she felt. After making a cup of coffee, she sat down on the sofa and scrolled through the news. For some unknown reason, she typed the word "airs". Soon, the latest report entered her sight.
"The legend of Airs, the latest hot news!"
"A hot summer night at a small-scaled fan meeting..."
Today, Airs was having a fan meeting? From seven o'clock to nine o'clock in the evening, wasn't it just over?
And looking at the photo, it was a huge success!
After flipping through many news articles in succession, Carolien realized that they were all published within the last two or three hours. It was about a series of fan meetings by Airs to thank their fans. They were held in several big cities and even at a few locations within the same city. The scheduling was packed and it was obvious that they were aiming to strike iron while it was hot. There was a lot of news pouring out of it, including fights among fans. Needless to say, all the good news and bad news resulted in —Explosive News!
Looking at it, Carolien couldn't help but think of the news of Elijah appearing at the gate of the stadium and watching the concert from a private room. The first thing that came to her mind was: Did he go to see her concert? So he could only promise her that he could come after the concert was over.
As soon as the idea flashed through her mind, a piece of news came in. "Perfect Ending: A celebration party for Airs and a gathering of celebrities?"
"Beautiful Hotel? There's also a celebration party?"
What's more, there were celebrities joining the event. In this way, he couldn't come here, could he? At least not within these two hours!
She clenched her phone. Carolien went back to check her messages and missed calls, but there was nothing at all. How could he forget it!
