......
Burrowing into his arms, Carolien rubbed her aching nose. Lifting her gaze, confusion filled her eyes. "Huh?"
"What's wrong? Hasn't he had enough yet?"
Just as the thought flashed through Carolien's mind, Elijah replied on cue, "Hug me."
She tilted her head and looked at him. Raising her hand, Carolien reached out and touched his forehead. "What's wrong with you? Are you unwell?" What kind of ridiculous issue was this?
"Yes, I seem to have eaten too much!"
It wasn't that uncomfortable. Elijah was just greedy for that feeling so he came up with a random excuse.
"Are you a child? Are you trying to overindulge?" She couldn't understand why he didn't know his own limits when it came to eating.
While saying this, Carolien leaned to one side and supported him. She touched him with concern and gently massaged him. "Is your stomach uncomfortable? Does it hurt or not?"
"Here? Or here?"
"Do you feel better?"
As if taking care of a child, Carolien's expression and actions were very serious.
Although he was full, it wasn't as bad as she was making it seem. However, Carolien's sudden actions made Elijah's mind go blank.
"I'm all right. I'm just a little bloated. I'll be fine soon!"
"What do you mean 'fine'? You obviously hurt your stomach. You're going to get indigestion!"
She had no idea that Elijah was leaning against her because he wanted to feel her softness. She thought he was in pain, so she was treating him like a patient.
"I'll help you up to your room to get some rest. Prevention is always better than cure. Do you have any stomach medicine at home?"
"I think so!"
"Let's go then!"
During the conversation, Carolien helped him back to his room. She poured warm water for him and looked around for the medicine. She saw the medicine box, but unfortunately, it was empty inside. She saw a lot of commonly used medicines along with a bunch of user manuals for stomach medicine that had been left inside. Clearly, he often had digestive issues. As she was tidying up the box, Carolien came to a conclusion.
