Mrs. Anderson remembered Lady Nevaeh's death and the abuse and harm Selena had suffered over the past decade, causing her heart to chill. "Mom was wrong about this matter."
Osvaldo's face was cold, "Grandfather was able to protect her under my hands. It's his ability." In other words, if Antonio couldn't protect her, he shouldn't blame Osvaldo for being ruthless.
After Osvaldo finished speaking, he turned and left. Lady Lauren watched his back as he walked away and sighed.
She knew that the old man had really angered Osvaldo this time.
Ten minutes later, Benjamin walked out of the study. Only Lady Lauren was in the garden, and Osvaldo was nowhere to be seen.
Benjamin's expression was indifferent. "Where's that kid?"
Lady Lauren said in a faint voice, "He left."
Benjamin said in a flat tone, "He really knows how to make the old man angry."
Lady Lauren couldn't suppress her anger when she heard this. "If Cassius doesn't care about his own daughter, why should my son take care of her?"
"Just because of the sins Cassius and Kiera committed, Penelope deserved to die, even if Selena had to pay the price!"
Benjamin was slightly surprised by his mother-in-law's words.
Lady Lauren sneered, "The old man is always thinking about Cassius, but has Cassius ever considered him for a moment?"
"Cassius harmed Callum and the Turner family, and Kiera killed Nevaeh and abused and harmed Selena for so many years."
"Selena and they have an irreconcilable hatred between them!"
Lady Lauren grew angrier as she spoke, glaring at Benjamin. "The Anderson family has no obligation to Selena, so why do they dare to demand that she swallow her vengeance for killing her parents and release her enemy's daughter?"
"Just because Selena likes your son, the Anderson family can brazenly demand that she give up her vengeance and spare the daughter of her enemy?"
Benjamin remained silent.
Lady Lauren sneered, "They want to trade my son's marriage for Penelope's life. How ridiculous!"
"Benjamin, let me tell you, this is not up for discussion!"
"If something happens to my son's wife, I will take him back to my family and never come back again!"
After speaking, she flung her sleeve and walked away proudly.
Benjamin remained silent.
...
Selena had no idea that the Anderson family had caused a "domestic violence" incident because of her.
Matilda drove along a long and winding mountain road for about two hours before arriving at her destination.
She parked the car and Leia, who was sitting in the back seat with Selena, jumped out and opened the car door.
Selena got out and looked up at the large black gate made of top-of-the-line explosion-proof materials. The building inside was not very tall and could be seen at a glance.
While Matilda was conducting her routine inspection, Selena stared at the two black gates.
Outside the office, a group of Union University students were secretly eavesdropping on the argument between the bosses. "The principal is actually a general?!"
"Not surprising. The principal used to be by Commander Turner's side, specifically responsible for protecting his soldiers. His position would naturally not be low."
"Tsk, the news of Commander Turner's return just came out, and they immediately came to the door. It's like they're being chased by a ghost!"
Kevin pushed up his glasses and shared the information he had collected. "That Romil inside is Commander Turner's profligate subordinate who has lost to him more than once."
"He has been jealous of Commander Turner for a long time, but has never won even once-"
Before Kevin could finish his sentence, Felix suddenly pounced on him and pushed him away. "Be careful!"
Although Felix reacted quickly, he was still a step too slow. A bullet pierced through his shoulder, instantly staining his military green combat uniform red.
The group of teenagers around him were all stunned. Three blond, blue-eyed M country people walked out from the side, two men and one woman, with expressionless and cold yet arrogant faces. The man holding the gun sneered, "H country's defense is really poor. Such an important meeting, and they actually let a few rats sneak in!"
As he spoke, he raised the gun in his hand and aimed it at Thomas.
In the second before he pulled the trigger, a gust of wind suddenly came from the front. The man instinctively turned his head, but it was too slow. Yasmin had already pounced on him, her eyes blood-red, grabbing the back of his neck and fiercely slamming him into the wall.
The man let out a roar of anger.
The other two people next to him quickly reached for their knives, but were knocked down by Jessica and Richard who had followed up. The three teenagers were like wild leopards, red-eyed and ruthlessly beating their opponents, not caring about their own lives.
Thomas quickly rushed to Felix's side and shouted, "Felix!"
Kevin was pushed to the ground by Felix, his face pale. His voice sounded calm, but he couldn't hide his trembling, "Felix!"
