"What's going on?" Noah asked from his place on the floor by the bed, with Charlie in his lap.
"Jade."
"What?"
"With Carly."
"What?"
"They were-Carly is um-Carly was eating her out. I mean-"
"Holy shit!" he exclaimed and stood up, causing Charlie to let out a displeased meow and run away from him, jumping on the bed.
"I wanna see."
"No you don't. Jesus. Did you know about this?"
"I had my suspicions but fuck, this is great."
I placed my hands to stop him from going out of the room, but there was already a knock on the door.
"Dani? Can we come in?" Jade asked and I waved Noah to go over to the bed as I opened the door.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi. Um-oh hi Noah." She spoke awkwardly. Noah winked at her and toed off his shoes before he slid further up the bed and took Charlie over his stomach.
Carly was behind her, wrapped in a blanket and Jade was in just her underwear.
I let them come in before I closed the door and turned to look at them.
"So...about what you saw."
"How long have you guys been together? Since when? Why did I not know about this?"
"Well um...it happened after that first party of the schoolyear. And we've been together for like, two months. Like you and Luke."
"Oh."
"And we're not exactly out, so."
"Who else knows?"
"Just you two I suppose. And Zack suspects something." Carly answered, sitting down next to Jade on my bed.
"Oh...well. I'm happy for you guys."
"Me too." Noah said and leaned over to them to wrap an arm around each of them.
"Your dick is probably happier." Carly laughed and Jade smiled.
"Well then. We'll leave you guys to it then. Just...don't say anything."
"Of course not. Oh and by the way, do you have an extra toothbrush?"
"Yeah. I'll bring it over. Goodnight."
"Night."
Once they were out of the room, I grabbed my pyjamas and opened the window.
"Stay here until I go change, and then you can go brush your teeth and whatnot."
Noah nodded and I quickly walked out of the room and over to the bathroom.
When I came back, Noah was looking through my closet.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking for something to wear to bed."
"Can't you sleep in your boxers?"
"You'd like that?" he asked, turning around with a cocky smirk.
"Oh shut up. I'm way too short for you."
"You're right. I'll just sleep in me boxers then."
He went to the bathroom after that, and when he returned, I was already in bed with Charlie purring next to me.
"Does the cat sleep with you?"
"Usually yes."
"Jesus."
He shook his head but climbed into the bed nonetheless. I turned off the lamp and we laid in silence for a couple of minutes, until he turned to me and propped his head up in his palm.
"What?" I asked, and I could still smell the Vodka on his breath.
"Nothing. I was just wondering."
"Wondering what?"
"Why you're still with Luke."
"Why not?"
"Because you deserve better."
"You're still drunk. And by better you mean you?"
"Oh I don't do relationships."
"It's alright. Go to sleep. You'll have a tiring day tomorrow."
He then turned around and didn't speak after that.
I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to ignore the erratic beating of my heart.
Why do I care so much that I hurt his feelings and that he's mad?
***
When I woke up the next morning, Noah was surprisingly gone. I had no idea where he was or how he even managed to let himself out, but by the time I got downstairs into the kitchen and Jade was there making coffee, I connected the dots myself.
"Did Noah leave?" I asked her as I sat down at the table, not feeling hungry. Well, that was a lie. I was really hungry but I knew I couldn't eat. I was just seven kilos away from my goal.
"Yeah he woke up before you did so I let him out."
"Oh. Okay. Was he mad?"
"He was in a bad mood, why? Did you do something to him?"
"Um...I don't think so? Nevermind. He'll get over it."
"Don't you want anything to eat?" she asked me when she saw that I was about to get up and leave the kitchen.
"Not really hungry right now."
"Oh...wait. Listen. About last night."
"Hey. It's fine alright? Don't worry about it."
"Sorry for not telling you earlier. I guess I just wasn't comfortable enough with myself yet."
"I understand." I said and smiled, before I left the kitchen to go up to my room. I wasn't really in the mood at the moment to go out with Luke and his brother, but I'd promised him so I kind of had to.
I did some homework until noon, and when I couldn't take the hunger anymore, I decided to get up from my desk and actually go downstairs for lunch.
As soon as I got up from the chair though, I felt a bit dizzy and fell on the ground, nearly hitting my head.
"Fuck." I cursed as I sat up. It was the first time in a long time that I actually fainted from lack of nutrition, and to be quite frank, I was a bit scared. What if I had been in class?
When I got downstairs, my family was already at the table, eating soup and talking about college.
"Finally decided to join us?" my dad asked as I sat down on my chair and grabbed a spoon.
"You came out of your cave?" my mother continues sarcastically.
"And that's why I don't like eating with you lot." I mumbled as I began eating quite animalistic.
Jade shot me a sad look and I smiled back at her, continuing to eat. I didn't get involved in their discussion, mainly because I was too hungry to actually talk, and because I hated their views on how college life should be.
Once we were finished with the second course, I washed the dishes due to my mother's demands, and then went back upstairs to blog a little.
