Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 644

“Isn’t that Elijah, the CEO of Bourne Group? What’s he doing here? Reaves, you told us on the phone that Director Mike was back. Where is he? Why’d you lie to us?” A protest was raised.

Reaves looked helpless. “You’ve probably heard, Mr. Elijah and our President Dennis are quite close. President Dennis is currently under the weather, in the hospital, so Mr. Elijah has stepped in to help.”

“Oh... Mr. Elijah helping out is pretty good. But why are our cell phones being confiscated? It feels a bit odd.”

Reaves explained, “My phone was taken as well. Mr. Elijah must have his reasons for doing this.”

All eyes turned to the formidable man seated in the chairman’s position. His face was cold and gloomy, emanating an intense and chilling aura. Being around him, even without having done anything wrong, one couldn’t help but feel as though they had.

“I trust some of you know how the chip was stolen.” His sharp gaze swept across everyone. “I’m giving you a minute to come clean. If no one confesses after a minute, I’ll have to resort to my methods.”

As his words echoed in the room, the countdown began. Simultaneously, several bulky men in black suits entered from outside. Their penetrating stares were fixed on the team.

As the tension rose, murmurs of protest filled the room.

“Who did it? Step up! It’s not manly to commit a crime and not own up!”

“President Dennis has always been good to us. Why would anyone betray her? If you’re having trouble at home, just tell her. Wouldn’t she help? Why stoop so low? This is illegal!”

“Exactly! We can’t do illegal stuff. Besides, President Dennis is the most lenient and generous boss I’ve ever seen. I plan on working under her for life!”

The minute was up. Elijah signaled to the bodyguards at the door. In an instant, an employee was dragged away!

“What are you doing?! Let go of me! Where are you taking me?! I can walk on my own. Let go of me!” The employee shrieked as he was dragged away, his cries echoing throughout the room.

Everyone’s mental defenses were slowly wearing down.

People from the tech department immediately retorted, “Don’t make baseless accusations! Do you have any proof that it was us?”

“The chip was lost in your department!”

“You’re joking! Your R&D guys can come into our department anytime! Who knows if you stole it?!”

“You’re the one joking! We’ve been swamped in the R&D department. We wouldn’t have time to steal anything from you! There’s definitely a mole in your tech department! Let your people be interrogated first! I guarantee the mole will be caught!”

“If you’re so sure it wasn’t someone from R&D, then let your people be interrogated first! That way you can prove your innocence!”

The two departments started to argue, each blaming the other for the theft.
