Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 641

The Vice President was sobbing over the phone, and she had to rush back immediately. The situation had unfolded so abruptly that her mind was a blank slate. The company’s core technology had been stolen. What was worse, they were still in the dark about who the mole was.

The culprit struck while she and Mike were unwinding in Country B.

The company’s core technology was stored on a chip, safeguarded by layers of encryption. Even if the chip was stolen, there was no guarantee the information could be cracked. But, it could also potentially be cracked in no time.

Just as she never expected Sarah to commit suicide, the world was full of surprises.

It was half-past seven in the morning, Ian emerged from his room. The entire mansion was as quiet as if it was uninhabited.

Ian went to Violette’s room, and found the bed in disarray, but the room was empty.

“Mom!” Ian yelled.

In the living room, Elijah was startled awake. He rose from the couch, fighting off a hangover, and walked towards Ian.

Ian’s eyes were slightly red. He didn’t care about their grudges, and anxiously said, “My mom’s gone! Do you know where she went?”

Elijah sobered up instantly. His hands were shaking. He pulled out his phone from his jeans, reading Violette’s message: [I had to rush back home because of an emergency. Keep this from Ian. Don’t let him worry.]

He wanted to call her right away, but first, he had to cover for her. “Your mom... she... had a prenatal appointment this morning... Some tests require fasting... That’s why she left early to go to the hospital,” Elijah made up an excuse, maintaining his cool exterior. “You have summer camp today. Don’t be late. I’ll go find her at the hospital later. You don’t need to worry.”

Ian was not familiar with prenatal check-ups, so he believed him.

...

At the Dennis Group.

Violette rushed to the company as soon as she landed. She hadn’t slept in over ten hours, so her face was pale and her eyes were bloodshot.

In the conference room, all the executives sat solemnly.

Violette strode in from the door. Her face was cold, and there was a chill about her. She sat down at the head of the table and was about to speak when a sharp pain shot through her belly.

She curled up, clutching her belly, cold sweat running down her face. “It hurts... My belly... it hurts so much...”
