Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 416

Seeing Brandon all puffed up, the lawyer explained, "After Mr. Bourne's mother passed away, he came to me to change his will."

"Oh?" Brandon asked.

"I don't drink, and I don't do parties. If there is any change in Mr. Bourne's condition, please let me know ASAP," the lawyer replied.

"Alright, let me walk you out," Brandon responded.

After the lawyer left, Brandon checked the time. Before he knew it, it was already 7 p.m.

Violette woke up, a little disoriented.

"Violette, we're heading home!" Mike exclaimed as she woke up. "Just got back from Hope Hospital. Elijah is still hanging in there. He was transferred to the ICU. The media are ruthless, and jumped the gun to report his death."

Mike helped Violette to her feet, and she was more alert.

"What time is it?" she asked.

"Almost 8 p.m.," Mike replied as he helped her into her wheelchair. "You hungry?"

Violette nodded.

She hadn't been eating well these past few days.

Now, she just wanted a good meal, a warm bath, and a good night's sleep.

With the lack of sleep from the past few days, she was feeling a bit woozy.

"Got food at home. Let's head back for dinner! The kids are stoked to hear you're back!" Mike helped her into the car and stashed the wheelchair in the trunk.

Half an hour later, they pulled into Silverleaf Ridge.

Seeing the familiar surroundings, Violette felt a wave of emotion. Although she had only been gone a week, it felt like she had been through a lifetime. Once back home, she gathered her thoughts.

The moment the kids saw their mom, they ran over.

"Mommy!"

After a week in the ICU, Elijah was transferred to the special care unit. When he woke up and found himself in a white hospital room, he was a bit confused.

"Elijah, you're finally awake," a woman's voice said. "How do you feel?"

He turned his head and saw Sarah's face.

"Elijah, I'll go get the doctor," Sarah said before leaving.

He was in the hospital. Was he sick? He tried to lift his arm, but it felt weak.

After Sarah left, Brandon walked in.

"Elijah, you finally woke up," Brandon said, his face easing up. "If you had died, I honestly wouldn't have known what to do. I might have even considered dissolving the company."

Elijah's face remained expressionless.

"Forget whatever unpleasantness happened before. Your mom would be heartbroken to see you like this from heaven. Even if you don’t do it for her, you should live on for Makayla's sake. We haven't been sending her to school these past few days, fearing she'd hear rumors about you and get worsen... She still doesn't know about your incident."
