Zachary had never seen Charles in this state, and in the mere seconds where he was stunned, Charles had gone downstairs with the document in hand.
As soon as he came around, he quickly followed Charles down to the living room.
Charles handed the document to Luna with an indifferent look on his face.
“What’s this?” she asked.
Charles did not answer. Instead, he sat back down on the sofa and opened another bottle of whiskey. He wanted to get drunk but no matter how much he drank, his stomach just felt uneasy while his mind was still as clear as day.
He wanted to fall asleep so he could see Sophia and their unborn child but he was unable to sleep. Even if he did fall asleep, he would only sleep for one or two hours and see Sophia’s scorched body in his dreams while there was nothing he could do as he watched her burn.
Nobody could possibly understand the hopelessness he felt after seeing her die again and again whilst not being able to save her. Even in his dreams, his heart would break apart every time.
He suddenly understood the despair she felt when she woke up every night from nightmares after she was released from prison…
“What’s that?” Oscar walked to Luna and asked curiously, and his eyes instantly lit up when he saw the document. “10% of Jones Group’s shares, Violet Mountain Villa… Charles, you’re also the behind-the-scenes boss of Benefits Development Holdings Limited?”
Everyone crowded over when they heard this.
There were not many words on the document, but the long list of names was enough to shock them all.
Luna quickly glanced through the list. “Are you certain all of these belong to you? Are you trying to deceive us?”
Charles placed the bottle of whiskey down and stood up. With a cold look in his eyes, he snatched the folder over and took out his lighter before lighting it up on fire.
“The first person to find out and report to me will get everything. That’s all, you can leave now.”
Everyone stared at the ashes on the ground and did not move.
They were just too shocked by Charles’ sudden move!
“Do none of you want my shares?” Charles glared at them.
Upon hearing that, Oscar quickly said a few polite words out of courtesy and left with the group without further ado.
Zachary took a seat beside Charles and threw his glasses to the table. “No matter what you do, Sophia is never coming back. Do you think this is worth it?”
He used to think that Charles was emotionless, but right now, he wished Charles was a little less sentimental.
“Yes,” Charles replied without hesitation. Anything for Sophia was worth it!
Clara’s eyes were red and swollen at this point.
Although Sophia had had a life of hardships and tragedies, she happened to meet this man who was willing to give everything up for her, but she was unsure whether this was Sophia’s luck or misfortune…

At the Jones family.
“What?! Are you sure?” Mr. Jones paled when he heard his employee’s report.
He had given the Phillips, Sommer, and Johnson family so many benefits because he was certain that the Harris family would refrain from doing anything drastic if they were on his side.
However, what did his subordinate just told him?
“Jones, how can you say this? She’s your daughter!” Madam Jones pointed at him angrily as her face flushed red in rage.
Mr. Jones snorted. “Should I just believe that she’s my own daughter because you say so?”
Who knew, Leah might have been another b*stard child like the baby she was carrying now!
“What do you mean by that? Whose daughter could she possibly be if not yours?” Madam Jones’ panted heavily as she screamed in anger.
Mr. Jones was beyond aggravated and could not be bothered to pay her any attention. He merely picked up his coat and left. “Since the b*stard child in your stomach has no use anymore, you should get rid of it now. I don’t want to see it when I come back!”
She was slightly annoyed at Leah because of the bankruptcy incident, but she did not wish for her to die! After all, Leah was still her precious little daughter no matter what!
Mr. Jones did not want to deal with her right then, and so he simply broke free of her grasp and shoved her aside.
Caught completely off guard, Madam Jones fell to the ground. She felt a shot of pain from her lower abdomen and when she looked down, blood had already seeped through her clothes. “Honey, I… I think I might be having a miscarriage, take me to the hospital now…”
However, Mr. Jones merely gave her a cold glance before leaving without even calling her an ambulance.
Meanwhile, Sylvia received a call from her superior.
“I warned you so many times not to provoke Charles, and I specifically told you not to lay a finger on Sophia! Why did you disobey me?! Charles is acting like a mad dog biting people everywhere right now, what if he starts digging and find out about me?!”
Sylvia replied with an apologetic laugh, “You’re worrying a bit too much. At most, Charles would trace everything back to me, you have been working undercover the entire time, there’s…”
