Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 344

Sophia felt a searing pain on her back, as if her bones had just been shattered by someone.

It took her some difficulty to swallow the blood in her mouth to console Charles. “You’ve already suffered multiple beatings with the cane, what’s one beating for me?”

However, this was an experience that felt terrible!

Charles' eagle-like gaze locked in on her, his eyes were seeing red. He had so much to say but was unable to say anything when the words came to his lips. All he did was hold on tight to Sophia’s waist, as if he wanted to pull her deep into the depths of his bones.

Master Harris sneered as he lifted the cane in his hands. “Both of you do have profound feelings for each other. Since you love taking a beating together, I’ll just beat both of you!”

Before the cane fell, Sophia pushed Charles away with sudden strength and stood under the cane.

“Just do it. Might as well hit me on the head or belly. Either kill me or hurt the child, there’ll be no need for you to carry your great-grandchild in your hands!”

Master Harris’ cane stopped right at the top of her head. “Sophia, do you really think that baby in your belly is an immunity badge?”

Sophia laughed coldly. “How would I? Why would I have an immunity badge normally given out by emperors when you’re not even one? You’re a rich landlord at most.”

Master Harris’ face turned green.

Charles quickly approached her with a deep frown, but Sophia stopped him. “Don’t come here. You can’t help me even if you try. We’ll just end up getting beaten together!”

Charles frowned deeper upon hearing her words, but he chose to stay where he was while he stared intently at Master Harris.

If Master Harris tried anything, he would rush over immediately!

Sophia looked at Master Harris who had an extremely unhappy look on his face. She said sarcastically, “I hope you don’t find what I’m about to say offensive. You’re at the late stage of lung cancer, there’s not long for you to live anyway.”

“You…” Master Harris could only spout one word while pointing at her. He took out his handkerchief to cover his mouth and coughed violently.

Ken immediately walked over with Master Harris’ lung cancer medication when he saw this. He proceeded to get a glass of water to pass to him.

Sophia ignored Master Harris’ rage and continued. “The baby in my belly is the first child of the Harris family and the one you’ll most probably be able to meet! If you aren’t afraid of missing out on meeting your great-grandchild when you die, just feel free to beat me. Life has no meaning for me anyway!”

Master Harris threw his bloodied handkerchief into the garbage bin and took his medication. He breathed heavily while looking viciously at her.

Sophia did not lower her head as she normally did but was staring at him without changing her expression.

However, the palms of her hands were already covered with cold sweat.

“You should be grateful. That child in your belly just saved your life!” Master Harris threw the cane to the ground with a slam as he said with clenched teeth.

Sophia wiped the sweat from her forehead. “Isn’t the very reason why I got pregnant is to save my life?”

Master Harris gave her a deadly stare. There was murder in his eyes, but he ended up just grunting loudly. He did not say nor do anything else.

“Ken, would you be able to help me bring the first aid kit down? It’s in Charles’ room on the second floor,” Sophia said with a frown as she glanced at the criss-crossing wounds on Charles’ back.

Ken did not give a verbal agreement but looked at Master Harris instead. When Master Harris did not indicate any rejection, he nodded at Sophia and went to get the first aid kit.

Charles had never experienced being protected by someone before. He lowered his eyes as a small smile appeared on his lips. His heart even turned somewhat softer.

Sophia was entirely right. He used to be able to blackmail Charles using the position of president as well as the five percent shares, but now, he had nothing to blackmail Charles with!

It was just that Charles had not given any resistance recently when he punished Charles, which made him forget about this point.

At the thought of this, a dark look appeared in Master Harris’ eyes as he turned violently to look at Charles with his teeth clenched. “Were you doing this on purpose?”

Charles had not given any resistance to his punishment during this period because he was misleading Master Harris on purpose!

“Grandpa, what do you mean? I don’t understand.” Charles looked like a mess, but he maintained his usual expression without betraying any emotions.

Master Harris had not expected to be manipulated by his grandson. The anger got to him. He held a handkerchief to his mouth and coughed multiple times, suddenly looking extremely old and frail.

Sophia had just only thought about this too. Charles was suffering so much in order to mislead Master Harris.

Now, however, his plans seemed to have been sabotaged by her…

She gripped the corner of her shirt. The bloody taste in her mouth dizzied her.

“It’s fine.” Charles lowered his head to look at her as he gently nudged her nose.

Sophia replied ‘okay’ dejectedly and said to Master Harris who had fallen back onto the sofa, “Master Harris, there’s no need for you to think about how to talk Charles out of this. Even if he decides not to fight Justin for the inheritance, I won’t agree to him doing so.”

She smiled. “You should know that he listens to me.”
