Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 328

“Serves him right. He’s always getting fresh with the ladies! He must have offended someone he shouldn’t have offended this time that’s why someone has decided to fix him!"

Jeffrey Hoffman was the handsome-looking but perverted male employee.

When they saw Sophia, they stopped talking and greeted her.

"I'm just an ordinary employee. You don't need to be so polite to me." Sophia smiled at them and entered the elevator.

Leah must be the person who fixed Jeffrey. He had just taken advantage of her this afternoon and she was already retaliating like a whirlwind.

Charles was right. Leah was already experiencing a mental breakdown.

In the afternoon, Sophia went to meet a major client with Maisie. The next day, according to Maisie’s arrangement, she learned some basics on the teller system from a teller whose last name was Logan.

When it was time for her to get off work, Charles came to pick her up for the party.

Sophia was taken aback when she saw him. As always, he was wearing a black suit, but as he was attending a party, he wore a bow tie and did his hair today, which made him look more handsome than ever.

"Are you stunned by my good looks?" Charles reached out and flicked her forehead.

It was only then did Sophia snap back to her senses. Her face heated up slightly. "...I like your outfit today."

"Just the outfit? Don’t I look good?" Charles opened the door, waited for her to get in, then closed the door, and sat in the driver's seat.

Sophia paused for a moment and said in an insipid manner, “You look good too.”

"Thank you." Charles started the car and chuckled. "I think you look better, though. I just can't get enough of you."

Sophia licked her lower lip, opened her mouth several times, but did not know how to answer him.

"How are you feeling today?" Charles turned to look at her. Her eyebrows, her eyes, her nose, her mouth… He just could not get enough.

Sophia smiled when she talked about work. “I have been learning from Mr. Logan the whole day. I feel fine. Mr. Logan has also praised me in front of Ms. Leadman and she seemed to be happy with my performance.”

"Mr. Logan might have praised you because of your status," Charles said.

The curvature on the corners of Sophia's mouth flattened a little.

"On the other hand, if Ms. Leadman praised you, then that’s definitely because you’re capable." Seeing the silly look on her face, Charles could not stop himself from reaching out and pinching her cheeks gently.

Sophia smacked his hand away, then pursed her lips and broke out in a grin.

He brought her to a stylist first before driving her to the hotel where the dinner party would be held.

The hotel was one of the most famous five-star hotels in B City. It was extremely costly to book a venue here, but one might not necessarily get the chance to hold a dinner party here even if one was wealthy as it also required a certain status and power.

When they arrived at the hotel, rows of luxury cars were already parked at the entrance. It seemed like a lot of guests had already arrived.

Unlike the grand and ostentatious setup as seen in Yvette’s birthday, there were no red carpets, no reporters, and no insanely huge amounts of bodyguards here apart from the luxury cars. Everything here was kept at a relatively low profile.

The two entered the hotel and an usher approached them. After checking their invitations, the usher led them to the third floor where the dinner party was held.

Both Charles and Sophia were among the finest in terms of their appearance, coupled with their unique identities, they captured the attention of all the guests on the scene as soon as they walked into the venue.

"Wow, Sophia, your dress is gorgeous!" Clara bounced over, her eyes sparkling. "I like your hair too. Your jewelry looks really beautiful too! You look radiant today!"

Zachary followed behind her with a smile. He coughed twice with displeasure seeing that her gaze was still locked on Sophia like magnets.

They seemed to share a tacit understanding, saying just enough to make their point. When one party was halfway through his sentence, the other party could already basically guess his thoughts. The bond of understanding between them was so strong that it was terrifying.

Sophia had a hard time listening to their conversation. What was more, she was only a newcomer in the field. It was very difficult for her to understand the deeper meaning of their words if she was not as experienced as they were.

"Are you going to let her listen to the things I’m about to say about Master Harris?" Fredrickson darted Sophia a cold glance.

"Go ahead." Charles did not even hesitate.

Worried that Sophia would get too awkward standing here not understanding a word that they were saying, he had even specifically asked the waiter to bring her a plate of snacks to relieve her boredom and awkwardness.

Fredrickson took it all in and snorted. "I thought you were different from other men."

In the end, he was just another man who was entranced by a woman.

"I'm just an ordinary person. You think too highly of me, Mr. Fredrickson." Charles did not mind at all.

With nothing in the way, Fredrickson went straight to the point. "There is a new breakthrough in lung cancer research. I have arranged for someone to put a stop to it. The clinical trial will be delayed for another year. Master Harris is already in stage four of lung cancer, so he won't be able to hold on any longer now."

"I owe you one," Charles said.

This was the only thing Sophia could understand. Her fingers trembled as she held onto a tiny snack, feeling like her heart was about to leap out of her chest.

This was indirect killing!

Fredrickson took in the fear in her eyes, his face filled with disdain and contempt.

Charles frowned almost imperceptibly and chuckled. "Marie is here too. The man next to her looks pretty good."
