Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 224

Sophia lowered her head and chuckled bitterly.

In just 20 years, she had led an even more ‘interesting’ life than many people. She had no idea if she should consider herself lucky or…

The bald man wiped the blood on his temple and revved up the engine. Meanwhile, a white Volkswagen sped up without warning and rammed into the MPV from the side.

Bang!

In the driver’s seat, the bald man had already reacted fast enough by turning the steering wheel at the same time the Volkswagen rammed into them. However, they still collided with each other.

The huge impact sent Sophia's stomach churning non-stop. She grabbed the seat with all her might but could not stabilize herself at all. It felt like her entire being was pressed firmly to the car window by a huge and invisible hand.

Bang!

Sophia hit her head against the window. She experienced a splitting headache and temporary hearing loss.

Crash!

The car window was smashed into pieces as a hand reached in to open the door.

Two men came in, their gazes sweeping rapidly around the car. They headed straight for Sophia. The slightly muscular man bent down and picked Sophia up, heaving her onto his shoulder.

“Who…”

Sophia had just opened her mouth when her stomach started churning, pouring acid water into her mouth. She pressed her lips firmly and swallowed the remaining words back in.

The bald man tried to stop them, but it looked like he had injured his leg. He said to the two men, "Master Harris specifically asked for Ms. White. You should know your place and weigh your actions before you do anything!"

The two men ignored him and lifted Sophia out of the car straight away.

As Sophia was hanging upside down, her swollen face was flushed as blood rushed to her head. It made her look even more sinister.

When they walked past the car door, she saw a lot of blood on the front passenger seat’s floorboard. The eyes of the man in the front passenger seat were squeezed shut. It was unsure whether he was dead or alive.

"Should we call an ambulance? We’re here to grab someone, not kill anyone."

"Do you know if he’s currently dead or alive?"

"If he isn't dead yet, then we will have someone’s blood on our hands if we leave now, won’t we?"

"The driver can still talk. He can call an ambulance himself!"

The man was taking large strides, hence Sophia’s head would crash into his back over and over again. This made her extremely dizzy.

Human life was just so worthless in their eyes…

The two men took her into the white Volkswagen with a broken headlight and drove off.

In the hospital.

"The number you have dialed is currently busy, please try again later." Master Harris' expression was subtle as he listened to the voice coming from the other end of the call.

Charles frowned. "What's the matter?"

"Is this how you talk to your elders?" The smell of blood mixed with the disinfectant made Master Harris even more irritable.

Charles furrowed his eyebrows tighter. "You sent four men. Just call three other men."

"Do you think I store just about anyone’s number on my phone?" Feeling the pain on his neck, Master Harris snapped. "Threatening me for a woman, huh? You’re really something, aren’t you!

"Even if my men brought Sophia back right now, what can you do?"

"Yes."

Sophia frowned. It was not her illusion after all. "Who sent you?"

"Your man's enemy!" Thinking that she was walking too slow, the man impatiently threw her onto his shoulder again and carried her inside. "If you have any more questions, ask Mr. Phillips yourself when you’re inside!"

It was extremely uncomfortable to be carried on someone’s shoulder. Despite that, the corner of her mouth tugged into a small arc. She loosened up considerably when she learned that Sawyer was the one who had sent someone to kidnap her.

Had it not been for Sawyer's intervention, she probably would not have the chance to escape anymore if Master Harris’ men successfully sent her to East Suburb Prison…

Phew! That was fortunate!

The heavens must have thought that she was too miserable, hence they sent Sawyer over to kidnap her this time. Sawyer was not a good man either, but he was much easier to deal with compared to someone like Master Harris who had direct connections to the highest authorities.

Click.

Sophia was carried all the way to the third floor. The man opened a door, threw her onto the bed, and walked out.

It was a large room with a golden yellow theme fitted with extravagant and gorgeous furnishings.

Two women dressed in servant attire stood by the bed. When they saw Sophia, they stepped forward to strip her forcibly and gave her a rose bath.

They then changed her into a red dress and brought her to the bed that was scattered with roses some time ago.

"Mr. Phillips, we have fixed her up according to your instructions," The two servants walked out and said to Sawyer who was standing outside.

Sawyer hummed a response and walked in after opening the door.

Sophia took the time to study the layout of the room before he came in, noting down the positions of five movable vases, an ashtray, and several small ornaments.
