Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 218

"!" Sophia's pupils contracted while her breathing turned rapid. Her back was drenched in cold sweat in just a short few seconds.

Through the gap between the elevator door, she saw William retracting his hand. Charles was standing half a meter away from him.

As though he had noticed her gaze, Charles turned over to look in her direction as she lowered her head subconsciously.

Click.

The elevator doors finally closed. Despite that, Sophia's heartbeat did not slow down at all.

Would Charles be suspicious if William told him that she had taken the elevator downstairs?

If Charles found out that something was wrong and chased his way downstairs, stopping her right before she left, would she still have a chance to leave in the future?

Of course, William hated her for being the other woman. Moreover, he had been at odds with Charles for a long time. He probably would not shoot his mouth off about this to Charles… Though she had no idea how high of a possibility this was.

Sophia licked her dry lips. Blood had completely drained from her face. Layers of cold sweat lined the wing of her nose.

Ding!

The elevator had arrived.

Sophia clenched her purse in her hand, stepped out of the elevator as fast as she could, and walked toward the hotel entrance.

The entrance was densely packed with luxury cars. If a black MPV was among them, it would certainly stand out. However, she searched several times repeatedly but still could not find the target vehicle.

Sophia frowned and glanced at the elevator doors. The elevator doors happened to open and the people inside filed out. She ducked out of the way and hid in a haste. Seeing that Charles was not among those in the elevator, she breathed a sigh of relief. However, she was still slightly perturbed.

She found an inconspicuous place and dialed the number with trembling hands. "I can't find your car at the hotel entrance."

"We came late. It’s already full where you are. Come to the second floor," the man said on the other end of the call.

Sophia hung up the call in a haste and entered the elevator. When she got off the elevator on the second floor, she bumped into Charles standing in front of a black MPV saying something.

She gasped and went around to the back of a car and squatted down at lightning speed. Her eyelashes trembled repeatedly.

What was going on?

What was Charles doing here?

Did William tell him anything that raised his suspicions, or did he discover something through her actions?

Sophia took a peep outside and pulled back quickly.

Charles had not left yet!

The things he was saying to those people who were about to pick her up was what made her feel most uneasy. Did he discover what she and Master Harris were planning to do?

"Miss, can you step aside? I’m going to drive my car now and I don’t want to hurt you." At this moment, the window of the car that Sophia had used to take cover rolled down. The owner of the car said to Sophia who was crouching under the car window.

There were not many people in the garage at the moment. The car owner was not very loud, though his words sounded particularly abrupt and clear.

Sophia made no reply but looked in Charles' direction instead. He was currently looking in her direction. She did not know if he was looking for her or was just darting a casual glance.

If she stood up now, he would be able to recognize her from her clothes even if he did not see her face.

What was more, regardless of whether he already knew about her plans to leave today or not, if she was discovered, then there was no way she would be able to leave anymore after this!

"Miss?" Seeing how Sophia remained still and quiet for a long time, the car owner called out again.

"You're welcome." The owner rolled up the window, started the car engine, and left the garage.

Sophia looked at the black MPV not far away, then walked two steps before stopping and frowning.

She had no idea what Charles said to the men in the car…

After hesitating for a moment, she continued to walk toward the black MPV. Though before she approached it, the MPV revved up its engine and drove off. She shouted twice, but it still did not stop.

"What's going on..." Sophia watched as the black MPV disappeared from her sight. She patted her forehead and felt exceedingly irritable.

She had clearly reached an agreement with Master Harris. How did it turn out this way?

Did Charles say something to the men in the car? Did they end up changing their minds?

Sophia took out her mobile phone and was about to give them a call when the sound of a car horn rang out twice. She looked in the direction where she heard the car horn and saw a black MPV.

"Over here, Ms. White." The black MPV’s window rolled down and a bald man wearing sunglasses called out to Sophia.

Sophia put her phone into her purse and trotted toward the black MPV. Someone got out of the rear and opened the door for her.

"Thank you." After Sophia entered the car, the man who opened the door for her entered the car as well and sat next to her, slamming the door shut with a bang.

It was a seven-seater MPV. The man in the driver's seat was bald and wore sunglasses. Sitting on the front passenger seat and on either side of Sophia were all hunky, impeccably dressed men.

No one was sitting on both seats in the middle.

Logically speaking, the MPV was spacious and wide, but Sophia felt slightly suffocated sitting between two hunky men with two other men in front of her who were a head or two taller than her. They also had arms that were as thick as her calves.
