Sophia pressed her lips. “I’ll give it to you later.”
“Okay,” Charles Harris walked out the door in large strides, and soon, the sound of a car’s engine starting could be heard.
Sophia took out her phone and stared at the annoying word ‘hubby’ on the screen. She frowned and clicked on his picture to edit the name – B*stard.
After a thought, she deleted it and changed it to Despicable Harris.
It was only after editing his name that she finally sent over the ID number and the videos shared to her by Megan over to Charles Harris.
Clara Robertson sent over a message immediately after Sophia was done.
[I Am Heaven and Earth, I Am Your Death] “Sophia, I need a hug!!! I’m so sad right now! Oh, I don’t want to live anymore!”
Before Sophia could reply, Clara Robertson sent a few more messages.
[I Am Heaven and Earth, I Am Your Death] “I beat up the mayor’s son, my dad is gonna kill me!!!”
[I Am Heaven and Earth, I Am Your Death] (Sobbing.gif)
[I Am Heaven and Earth, I Am Your Death] “What am I gonna do?! I'm too scared to go home! I can’t tell my mentor and I can’t tell my dad. I dare not even see them! (Sudden burst of sobbing.JPG) I have a home I can’t go back to, I’m now an unwanted little cabbage!”
Sophia sighed lightly and replied with a few ellipses before asking her the reason she beat up the mayor’s son.
Clara Robertson replied indignantly.
[I Am Heaven and Earth, I Am Your Death] “It’s because he’s been harassing me, pushing for his father to meet my father and propose for my hand. He’s always sticking close behind me, rambling continuously about how our families were a great match and trying to get me to break up with my mentor and focus on giving him a son!”
“Tell me, do you think he has a mental problem?! Yes!”
“So, I gave him a beating! I haven’t even complained about my hurt hand and he’s already whining about it to my father. He wants me to take responsibility by marrying him! Blergh! If he’s that great, why doesn’t he just make a beeline for heaven?”
Sophia White, “…”
In the end, Sophia White could not take Clara Robertson’s continuous pleading and walked forty minutes outside of the little district to get a taxi for the law firm.
“Hello, can I help you with anything?” The receptionist asked.
Before Sophia White could answer, a figure flew towards her in a flurry and leaped onto her, almost pushing her to the ground.
“I knew you’re the best! You’re just like Kanzeon herself here to save this little fairy!!!” Clara Robertson was agitated.
Sophia White, “…”
Sophia White may be strong but she was not used to a girl hanging onto her like a koala bear. “Why don’t you get off me first?”
Clara Robertson’s face was scrunched up as she sobbed, “I won’t get off! That sticky nougat has caught up and my mentor is speaking to him now. He’s making me apologize to that sticky nougat!!!”
Sophia White pushed Clara Robertson off her. They had not known each other for long and she wondered why would Clara be so needy towards her.
“Hmph, he actually wanted me to apologize to that sticky nougat. I don’t want this boyfriend anymore!” Clara Robertson pouted as she put up a fist as a show of self-encouragement.
“Sophia, you must always protect Angela, who is fighting on your side!!!” [TN: Angela is a female doll-like character in the online game, Honor of Kings]
Sophia White, “…”
At that moment, Zachary Johnson’s long legs strode in and he waved Clara Robertson over. “Come over here, young lady.”
“I don’t want to!!” Clara Robertson jumped behind Sophia White and gave Zachary Johnson a warning look.
When Sophia White opened the office door, the two people seated in there turned to look at her at the same time.
One of them was in casual wear and was seated at the utmost south side of the sofa. He was around 1.8 meters and had quite a good fashion sense. The only thing about him was that he was beaten into a pulp and it was quite disheartening to look directly at him.
As for the person seated on the north side of the sofa, it was someone that Sophia White knew. H was Aunt Lucy’s nephew, Victor Hemingway.
“Dr. Hemingway,” Sophia White gave him a polite smile.
Victor Hemingway smiled and stood up. His eyes looked like they were filled with stars from the night sky. “I did not expect to meet Miss White here. What a coincidence.”
While they were busy greeting each other, the man who had been beaten to a pulp was still seated on the sofa and did not even glance at Sophia White.
Clara Robertson popped her head out from behind Sophia White and asked Victor Hemingway, “Are you that genius doctor, Victor Hemingway, who got transferred here from B City?”
“Miss Robertson actually knows who I am. It is indeed an honor,” The smile on Victor Hemingway’s face became slightly wider, deepening the dimples on his cheeks.
The mayor’s son, who had been sitting on the sofa all this while, stood up as well. His eyes brightened as he looked at Clara Robertson. He spoke a little unclearly due to his face being swollen from the beating, “Clara, I tot you won’t be afologizing to me!”
Clara Robertson grunted twice and under Zachary Johnson’s continuous hinting, she grunted twice again, “Sorry.”
“It’s fine. Break up with Zachary Johnson and be wif me, and I’ll forgif you!” Even with his beaten up, swollen face, he still spoke with an air of arrogance and snobbishness, not allowing anyone to forget that he was the mayor’s son.
Clara Robertson clenched her hand into a fist and was about to continue beating him up when Sophia White pulled her back. “You’re now a mature adult who now owns an identification card. You should be calmer when dealing with things.”
“Can I get rid of my identification card, then?” Clara Robertson asked pitifully.
Sophia White, “…”
Victor Hemingway smiled in slight exasperation as he walked forward and said, “It was wrong of Miss Robertson to beat up Holden, but his constant act of wooing you did cause you discomfort. This was his fault and I apologize on his behalf. I do hope you can be understanding.”
