Alpha's Second Chance novel Chapter 282

NOAH

I woke up this morning, knowing I wanted to take Madeleine out for breakfast. So, after showering and getting dressed, I went over to the house. I lost my breath when I first saw her, and she looked so beautiful and incredibly sexy in that dress, but at the same time also innocent.

I had asked her to change to something more comfortable for my sanity and so she wouldn’t ruin the dress.

We left the house, and I brought her over to the garages and led her inside. She looked around.

“We going for a drive?” She asked, and I smiled at her.

“Sort of,” I say, leading her over to a quad bike, and her eyes got full of excitement.

“We going on that?” She asked excitedly, and I chuckled.

“Yes. If you are not scared to do it,” I tease her, and she playfully smacks my arm.

“Let’s go.” She says, and I laugh.

I was driving, and she was sitting behind me, putting her hands around me. And then I started it and drove out and towards the forest. She squealed happily when I sped up and drove us through the forest.

I loved having her this close and almost wished the drive would be longer. I noticed a few new trees and flowers in the forest but didn’t think more until we reached the waterfall. I stepped on the break surprised, and we stopped up hard. I heard her gasp.

“Shit, sorry,” I say, forgetting the sight in front of me and step off the bike.

“Are you okay? I am so sorry.” I say again, but she smiles at me.

“I am fine, just surprised.” She says softly.

“Good,” I say and turn to look at what had caused me to use the break.

The waterfall was always beautiful, but now it was even more amazing to look at. Full of fresh grass and flowers in all colors everywhere. This is the first time I have seen this. Even on the rocks, beautiful water flowers shine in different colors.

I do not know how this happened, but I know for sure it was not here yesterday. I went here just after saying goodnight to Madeleine, and everything had looked as it always had. This was as if magic had happened overnight.

“Noah?” Madeleine says softly and snaps me out of my thoughts.

“I am sorry, it’s just. Something incredible has happened here overnight.” I say and turn to look at her again.

Her eyes look deeply into mine, and then I see her eyes turn darker, and I know she was talking to her wolf.

-

“Sort of, my wolf did.” She says, whispering, and she looks nervous.

“I was going to tell you, I swear. I didn’t know how. I was afraid you would be disappointed.” I tell him, and he smiles.

“Why would I be disappointed that my mate is not only beautiful and has a beautiful soul but also a powerful wolf? I could never be disappointed.” He says and smiles at me.

“But I’m not what you expected,” I say sadly.

“But you are, and much more. Madeleine, you could never disappoint me. You are good, gentle, and amazing. This is just another amazing part of you. And I will do everything I can to help you understand and control it. I’m guessing you don’t yet since I sensed this was your wolves doing.” He says, and I nod my head.

“Yes, I first found it a few months before my birthday. Dad told me this runs in our family, and when I was a baby, I actually made a flower grow. And he knew I had gotten it. It is how my family always found out. When the baby makes a flower.” I explain.

“It is amazing.” He says and smiles at me.

“Let’s get that breakfast. Wait here.” He says, standing up and walking back to the bike.

In the room, under the seat, is a cooler, and he brings that and a blanket over, and I help him set up the food. And we eat and talk about all kinds of stuff.

When we were done eating, he packed the empty containers away and returned, sitting with me on the blanket and behind me so I sat between his spread legs. And I lean back into him. And I can not help but think that I am fortunate to be here in his arms, and my heart is racing with my growing love for him.
