It is sunrise, and I am ready and waiting for Dad and Enzo, and thankfully, I do not have to wait for long.

“An Alpha from another pack called. He says that Alpha Louis and his family are hiding somewhere in his territory. Or maybe just outside it. He didn’t know where precisely.” Dad tells Enzo and me.

“Why are they not that his home? He must have talked to them if he knew they were there.” I ask.

“I asked him that, and he said he can’t run the chance of an attack if they took down La Meute Fantôme’s. He knows that no one in France can beat them. He wished to help, and that is why he found out how to contact our warriors.” Dad says, and I nod my head.

“Let’s go then. We need to find them before the rouges.” I say, Dad looks at me with eyes that tell me there is more.

“What is it?” I ask him.

“The Alpha told me there are rumors about why the rouge leader wants Madeleine, and there are rumors of some special powers running in Alpha Louis's family,” Dad tells us.

“That doesn’t matter; we still need to find them!” I say getting annoyed, he is stalling.

“Of course, we will find them, I just telling you all the facts we have. And it gives us the rouges motive to do all this.” Dad explains, and I calm down.

“Okay, sorry,” I say as I know I overreacted. But Dad just smiled at me.

“Not let us get going so we can find your mate,” Dad says. I hear Enzo chuckle, but I don’t say anything. Because I know I’m acting like very impatient right now.

Dad shifts into his Lycan, and both Enzo and I do the same, and the warriors in the camp bow for us. Dad starts running, and we follow him, followed by the twenty warriors we are bringing. Dad seems to know what way to go, so I follow while I try to feel for Madeleine, and after a few hours, I know we running in the right direction.

I can feel her better and better, as I am sure we are getting closer to them. For now, she seems to be resting, which is good, must mean they are okay for the time being. And I will be there soon, and then I will always be by her side when she needs me.

I carefully walk through the forest, keeping all my senses open for smells, voices, and even footsteps from both wolves and humans.

Both Dad and Enzo tell me that they have rouges in their sight, but none of them see the leader. I reach out my senses, trying to feel for where Madeleine is. I know she is close by; I can feel it, but that is all I feel right now.

But then out of the blue, I felt her so close in my mind as if I was touching her, looking at her, and then her words woke me up.

‘Help, I know you here, I can feel you, I have been feeling you for days. If you hear me. He is here. He has found us. Please help, save us.’ Her soft voice from when we met at the ball or when we talked in the hall, is gone, replaced with fear.

‘I am coming. I am on my way.’ I call back as an old rundown cottage surrounded by rouges comes into my view.
