NOAH
It was hard to get out of bed when I woke up that morning. I had been lying there for hours, looking at the little flower. Eventually, I got out of the bathroom and took a shower before walking home to Dad and Mom.
When I walked inside the house, I smelled the scent of freshly baked bread. I walk out to the kitchen and find Mom and the twins there, but Dad isn’t here yet.
“Man, you look more dead than a zombie,” Nadia says.
“Yeah, you really do, brother. Didn’t you sleep?” Nora asks.
Mom looks at me, looks a bit worried, and comes to look closely at me. She put her hands on my face, and I felt a low surge of energy flowing into me. Mom had used her special powers to help me.
“Thank you, Mom,” I say, and she smiles.
“You welcome my son. Now tell me, why did you not sleep? Is it the rejection?” She asks me, and I shake my head.
“No, mom. I actually feel okay with the rejection So does Lucian. No this is something I don’t know how to explain because it’s too weird. It would happen twice in our family.” I say calmly.
“We can talk later,” Mom says and I nod my head happy she understands it is not to be talked about right now.
Dad Joined us for breakfast and they all talked about last night. And about how exciting it is that Enzo now has a Lycan form. I’m happy my Beta now has the strength to match mine, well almost.
After we are done eating the twins leave the kitchen, and I can hear them leave the house.
“So try to explain, son,” Dad says, and I am not surprised he knows what I said to Mom.
“Dad, how did it feel when you found out mom was your second chance?” I ask him, and he and Mom look at each other and smile.
“You already know your mom wasn’t eighteen when I found out. But for me it was strong, I smelled her scent, like was it the drug I never had. I felt tingles when I touched her. And I felt this huge responsibility to make sure she was safe. And I absolutely hated seeing all the young guys around her.” Dad tells me and smiles.
“Do you think you know who your second is?” Mom asks, and I look at them.
“Madeleine,” I say not looking at them.
“Madeleine? Alpha Louis’s daughter?” Dad asks, and I nod my head.
“I feel drawn to her, I couldn’t get my eyes off her after meeting her after the moon-goddess had been there. Her scent and her eyes are the most beautiful and captivating green eyes I have ever seen. I feel her warm and good heart, and she had sneaked out last night. I was on the top of the waterfall when she came out of the forest. I could not leave before she did. I had to be sure she was safe.” I tell them. Mom and Dad look at each other and smile.
I walk towards the wing that is mine. But when I turn down another hall, someone bumps into me, and I automatically hold on to the person so they don’t fall. Tingles spread up my arms and then her scent of Roses and marshmallows hit my nose, Madeleine.
“I am so sorry, and I was in a hur...” She doesn’t finish when she sees it is me. And I hear her whisper, “Oh my god.” to herself.
“My king, I am so sorry, please accept my apologies.” She says as she steps back.
“No harm has happened, Madeleine. So, there is no need to be sorry. Did you hurt yourself?” I ask, trying hard to stay calm.
“No, my king, I am fine. Just in a hurry, my dad is waiting.” She says.
“Yes, I met him outside. I’ll let you go then. Was nice meeting you.” I say calmly.
“You too, my king. Goodbye.” She says and bows her head. I put a finger under her chin and turned her head so she looked at me.
“You don’t have to bow for me. Goodbye, Madeleine.” I say, fighting harder for control, feeling her skin and seeing her eyes.
She blushes and hurries towards the exit, and I watch her leave.
