“Again,” Dad says.

We are training every day, and it is harder than I have ever done before. It makes me tired, and by that, it makes my powers feel softer.

After another hour, Dad says it is time to stop, and just as I am about to turn and walk out, I smell them. Then Rose walks inside the training room, and I rush over to Rose without realizing it.

“Brother.” I hear Rose's voice.

“Sister,” I answer, and she walks into my arms for a hug.

We stood like that for a long time, and no one said anything, and I felt Lucian calm down.

‘She is good and safe, she is safe.’ Lucian whispers in my mind, and I silently agree with him.

“I am okay, Noah. Dad told me your lycan keeps asking for me. So I wanted you both to see I am okay.

“Yes, he has been anxious to see you,” I tell her.

We all spent time today talking and just being a family. And family is the most important thing for me, I would die to protect my family. I stand up, walk outside in the garden, and look at the moon. I feel Lucian relax more than he has for the past two weeks, and I think it is because Rose is here tonight. I sit down on the steps and enjoy the silence.

“It is not a full moon, but still beautiful.” I hear Rose’s voice.

“Hey sis, yes it is,” I say as she sits beside me.

“Are you okay, brother?” She asks me.

“Yes, I think I feel okay for the first time since I turned.”

“Then, what bothers you? I can feel something is still bothering you and Lucian.” She says and I can’t hide my surprise about that she knows my lycans name. I had not yet told anyone what his name was.

“Everyone knows brother. Everyone felt him emerge. And I think because you are the true king, everyone instantly knew his name.” She says and I think about what she said.

“You mean the king my dad is ascendant from?’ I ask him.

‘Yes, I also tried to hold him back when he went to kill his daughter. I caught him with everything. But in the end, we will do what the human part of us demands.’ Lucian says.

I think about what he says, I do not know if we have a mate out there, most of the big kings didn’t. Lucian is an old soul who has seen many things. I do not want to be like every other kings, I want to be better. Most importantly, I want to be someone Lucian can be proud of being bound to.

‘I promise you I will never, robe you of your mate if we have one. Whatever decision that will be made, we make it together.’ I promise him.

‘Thank you, I like the sound of that.’ Lucian answer. And there is a silence, but it’s not an awkward silence, but a peaceful one.

‘I believe in you, young king, I can feel in our soul what kind of king you want us to be. And I together we can be that. I feel that family is important to you, and so is it for every wolf and lycan soul.’ He tells me.

‘I never thought about that. Even if you are the most powerful part of any of us humans, you are still forced to be under our decisions. It isn’t fair, really. We would not be what we are without our wolves or lycans.’ I say, and I can feel he agrees.

‘Goodnight, young king. Tomorrow is a new day and new adventure.’ Lucian says, and I feel him pull back into the back of our mind. And I feel my mind rest before I fall asleep.
