Alpha's Second Chance novel Chapter 243

ENZO

I think we might have or almost. An Alpha from one of the smaller packs closely had called Logan and said his beta may have found something. He had stumbled over a tourist in the human town near their pack, and the tourist had been from Italy. He had been trying to charge a human girl by telling her where he was from.

The Beta had on distance followed him when he left. And had found him walking into an abandoned village where Rouges lived, so he had yet to follow him further. But this is our first real lead on how to find them, and we are now busy putting together warriors to come with us to raid the village and hopefully find them.

ROSE

I woke up today with contractions, and they get stronger all the time, and all I could think was, not now. I tried to hide it at first, but I can’t anymore and Mia has been in this room all day, keeping an eye on me. The door opens, and Alpha Carlos comes inside and looks at Mia, who is starting to talk.

“She will give birth tonight for sure. The medicine you put in her water is helping.” Mia says, and Carlos smiles evilly.

“Good.” He says and leaves.

“What? What you give me.” I ask, a little panicked.

“Just something that will make you give birth without you being able to stop it,” Mia tells me.

“No! How can you do this? How can you sit there and watch.” I cry as a contraction hits.

“Your son will soon be born. Right on this night.” She just says and looks at me.

“Rose. It will be okay.” Noah whispers.

“But I can’t, not now, not here,” I whisper, trying hard not to cry. I registered that Mia left the room.

“Rose, listen to me. I saw the paper, tonight at midnight, it will be my birthday. You know what will happen.” He whispers.

And I do. Anything that was ever found about the true king was that no one and nothing would be able to stop him, nothing at all. I nod my head and try to relax a little, just a few more hours, I tell myself.

-

“Aah! No…” I almost scream out.

“You need to push,” Mia tells me.

I am in labor and in a panic. I don’t want Alpha Carlos to take my baby boy.

“No.” I sneer between the contractions.

“If you don’t, you put both yourself and the baby in danger.” She tells me, like, if I don’t know that.

“Sis, do it. Don’t put yourself in danger. Whatever happens, it will be okay.” Noah whispers, and Mia looks at him.

“It is almost midnight.” She whispers low.

“I know I can feel it,” Noah says.

“Feel what?” I whisper weakly.

“We are almost there. Push.” She says again

And I Push for what feels like hours, and then I hear him, my son, crying.

“You did it, and he is out, healthy little baby boy.” She says as she cuts the cord, puts him into a towel, and cleans him up as well as she can. Then, I wrapped him in a blanket and gave him to me.

“My precious little boy,” I whisper.

The door opens, and Alpha Carlos comes inside. Mia hurries to cover my legs, which I really appreciate.

“Ah, I see he has finally been born.” He says, looking at me. And sits down next to me.

“I knew you could be useful for something else than a good fuck.” He says as he looks at Mia, who looks scared now.

Then he looked at me and, without warning, grabbed my baby from my arms and stood up.

“NO! Please don’t take him.” I beg.

“You don’t need him, I do.” Alpha Carlos says.

“Please,” I beg, and he just laughs.

But then something happens, and we all look at Noah, who has just broken two of his chains. And are in the middle of shifting, into a lycan.
