Alpha’s Regret After His Pregnant Luna Left novel Chapter 83

(Audrey’s POV)

Time seemed to freeze as Arthur stood in the doorway, his eyes focused on the horrific tableau before him. The silver letter opener jutted from Victoria’s abdomen, her hand still gripping mine around the handle. Blood bloomed across her expensive blouse like some macabre flower.

“Arthur,” Victoria whimpered, her voice breaking. “She attacked me. Help me…”

Her hand released mine, and she staggered backward, clutching the letter opener still embedded in her stomach. The theatrical way she swayed made my blood boil with renewed rage.

“You manipulative witch,” I hissed, my wolf clawing just beneath my skin. “You pulled my hand toward you!”

Arthur’s expression was unreadable as his gaze moved between us. The tension in the room was suffocating.

“She confessed, Arthur,” I said, my voice steadier than I felt. “She admitted to deliberately causing my miscarriage. She pulled me into traffic that day on purpose.”

Victoria’s eyes widened with practiced innocence. “That’s absurd! I would never-” She winced dramatically, doubling over slightly. “I came here to talk, and she attacked me the moment I stepped inside!”

My bitter laugh echoed through the room. “How convenient that you managed to time your little stunt perfectly for Arthur’s arrival.”

I turned to Arthur, searching his face for any sign that he believed me. “Do you believe her? Again?”

Something flickered across his features-doubt? Recognition? I couldn’t tell. But before he could respond, Victoria let out another pitiful moan, sliding down to the floor with theatrical grace.

“Please, Arthur,” she sobbed. “It hurts… I need help.”

Arthur’s jaw tightened, his eyes darting between us before settling on Victoria’s wounded form. He pulled out his phone, pressing a single button.

“Daniel, get the car ready. We have a situation at Audrey’s territory house. Medical emergency.”

He slipped the phone back into his pocket and approached Victoria, his movements cautious.

“Put pressure on the wound,” he instructed, his voice clinical. “Daniel will be here shortly.”

I watched the scene unfold with detached disgust. Even now, even after everything, he was prioritizing her. Some things never changed.

I walked to the nearby table, grabbed a pack of tissues, and tossed them at Victoria’s feet.

“For the blood,” I said coldly. “I’d rather it not stain my floor.”

Victoria’s tear-filled eyes glared at me with undisguised hatred. Arthur shot me a look that might have been reproachful, but I was beyond caring.

“You don’t understand,” Victoria whimpered, looking up at Arthur with those manipulative eyes. “I came here because I was scared. After what you said about sending me away…”

She reached for his hand, and to my disgust, he allowed her to take it.

“You know what happened to my mother because of her loyalty to you,” she continued, her voice dropping to a whisper. “The Silver Dagger attack left her a vegetable, and now I fear the same fate. I was only trying to protect you, Arthur. Always you.”

The blatant emotional manipulation made my stomach turn. This woman had no shame, no limits to what she would say or do to get what she wanted.

“I can’t believe you,” I spat, unable to contain my rage any longer. “You’re using your mother’s condition to manipulate him? Is there nothing you won’t exploit?”

To my surprise, Arthur released Victoria’s hand and stood up. His expression had hardened, something cold and calculating replacing the concern that had been there moments before.

He approached me, his movements deliberate. Before I could react, he wrapped his fingers around my wrist-not roughly, but firmly.

“You’re coming with us to the medical center,” he stated, his tone leaving no room for argument.

I yanked my arm back with such force that even Arthur seemed surprised.

“I’m not going anywhere with her,” I growled, my wolf’s anger bleeding into my voice.

Arthur’s brow furrowed. “Audrey, don’t be difficult. You both need medical attention.”

“I’d rather bleed out right here than share a car with the woman who killed my pups!”

The words exploded from me with such force that even Victoria flinched. The silence that followed was deafening.
