Alpha’s Regret After His Pregnant Luna Left novel Chapter 184

(Audrey’s POV)

The moment Arthur Moonstone appeared in the Alpha treatment area of the Wolf Medical Center, everything changed. The energy in the room shifted instantly.

Alpha Stormhowl’s fury transformed into something calculating and business-like. Only Florian remained openly hostile, his golden eyes narrowed as Arthur surveyed the chaotic scene.

“Is this Audrey Winter?” Alpha Stormhowl finally acknowledged me by name, his tone suddenly respectful as he addressed Arthur. “Your Luna?”

Arthur’s obsidian eyes flashed dangerously. “What do you think?” His voice was arctic cold.

Florian’s arm tightened around my shoulders. “Former Luna,” he corrected sharply. “They’ve severed their mate bond.”

Arthur’s lips curved into a predatory smile. “I’ll send you a full moon invitation when we reform our mate bond, Alpha Stormhowl.”

My skin burned with both the allergic reaction and embarrassment. Arthur spoke of our reconciliation as if it were already decided, as if my agreement were merely a formality.

Arthur stepped forward with Alpha authority, reaching for my arm. “Come, Audrey.”

Florian didn’t budge. His grip on me remained firm, his stance protective rather than possessive.

“She’s not going anywhere with you,” he stated flatly.

The two Alphas stared each other down, neither willing to yield. I stood between them, torn and uncomfortable, while my body screamed for medical attention. The silver-laced restraints had left angry marks on my wrists, and the rash from my allergic reaction was spreading visibly.

Despite my discomfort, I felt oddly reassured by Arthur’s presence. Not because I wanted to return to him, but because he represented a counter-balance to the Shadowcrest family’s power. They wouldn’t dare harm me with him watching.

“Florian,” I said quietly, forcing myself to sound calm despite the maddening itch consuming me. “You should handle Serena’s situation first.”

His golden eyes snapped to mine, confusion evident in their depths.

“She needs help,” I continued, my voice dropping to ensure only he could hear. “You’ll never forgive yourself if something happens to her while you’re distracted with me.”

Something shifted in Florian’s expression-hurt, perhaps, or disappointment. He looked at me as though I had betrayed him somehow, though I couldn’t understand why.

“Let her go, Florian.” His father’s commanding voice cut through the tension. “Release Alpha Moonstone’s Luna at once.”

Florian’s face darkened with fury. “She is NOT his Luna!” he shouted, his voice echoing off the sterile walls. “They’ve severed their-”

His words died abruptly as a wheeled chair appeared in the doorway. Serena Shadowcrest sat slumped in it, her face ashen, her breathing shallow. She looked as though she might collapse at any moment.

“Brother Florian?” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Florian’s attention immediately shifted. In that moment of distraction, I twisted free of his grip and backed away, grabbing Sarah Mitchell’s arm.

“We need to go,” I whispered urgently. “Now.”

Sarah nodded, supporting me as we edged toward the door opposite from where Serena had appeared. My legs felt weak, my skin on fire.

“This way,” Alpha Stormhowl said suddenly, appearing beside us. His golden eyes-so like his son’s-assessed my condition clinically. “I’ve arranged an Alpha treatment room for you.”

I glanced at Arthur, expecting him to object, but he merely nodded once, his eyes never leaving Florian, who was now kneeling beside Serena’s chair.

Alpha Stormhowl led us to a private treatment area where pack healers immediately began preparing healing herbs treatment. Through the glass door, I could see Julian Reed speaking with Alpha Stormhowl, their conversation appearing tense but civil.

“I apologize for the misunderstanding,” Alpha Stormhowl was saying. “Had we known she was Arthur’s Luna, we would never have-”

Julian’s response was cool and precise. “How convenient that a wolf’s treatment depends on who they’re connected to, rather than their inherent right to dignity.”

Alpha Stormhowl had the grace to look uncomfortable. He bowed slightly and departed, leaving Julian watching me through the glass with a thoughtful expression.

The door slid open, and Arthur entered, his tall frame dominating the small treatment room. Sarah stepped protectively between us, but he simply moved around her.

“Why did you disappear from the Shadowcrest territory den?” he asked without preamble.

I winced as the healer applied cooling salve to my rash. “I had an allergic reaction.”
