Estelle's POV
"So you're familiar with that kind of death? Vampires." Lance's voice emits a threatening note that I'm sure is partly from the natural reaction of werewolves to vampires.
"Because they're drained of blood, werewolves."
It was like there was an invisible web pulling back and forth between Lance and Noah, and the smell of gunpowder in the air needed only the slightest spark to ignite. I could only pray that they would never fight here, and I was still thinking about finding my father.
"I haven't ruled out before that someone deliberately confused our investigation by draining the blood in this way."
"I didn't rule it out either, so I went to investigate." Noah's tone took on some pride.
"Investigate? You infiltrated the wolves' territory?"
"That's right, I blended into your territory." Noah's dark red eyes looked provocatively at Lance.
The veins in Lance's forehead bulged vaguely, his territory had been invaded, a shame he had never encountered before.
"You've been in my wolf pack before? I have the tightest patrols of any wolf pack."
"So more people from other wolf packs died didn't they? Don't give me that look, it's easy for a pureblood vampire to get into a werewolf's territory. Your territory just takes a little more time."
"So what? What did you find?"
"Sadly, the other guy was smart enough. He didn't leave any traces." Noah sighed with mock regret.
"The ones invading our territory are pure-blood vampires?"
"Pretty much, pure-blood vampires all have the ability to transform humans, and the wounds on those corpses, at a glance, were caused by lower-rank vampires. And to be able to cause this kind of mass murder and still not be discovered by us means that the other party is keen enough."
"That's a much smaller area, can we find him?"
"You can't say that either. Although pure-blood vampires are few and far between, they all come from noble houses. And no one wants to contact with the outside world except me."
"There are two races at stake, and you want to go to war with us?" Lance's grip on the arm of his chair tightened and I heard the sound of wood cracking.
"To be honest, most vampires don't care. Each family is so convoluted that they're probably happier to see their own family perish than a werewolf."
"It's your business if you don't care; I have to take responsibility for my people. If they don't cooperate, I will get rid of them all."
"Of course you're not afraid, I've heard of the 'Legion' name. But you and I both know it involves more than just your wolves. If the balance between werewolves and vampires is upset, we'll be in for another round of war for decades afterwards."
"Now that you know this, go talk to your kind." Lance frowned, he was getting impatient.
"That's the problem, not to mention my kind, I can't even persuade the old guys in my family."
"But I heard that the leader of the Toreador family turned all the disobedient old men in his family into ashes."
"Let's take each other on that point."
"Although I can get out of this fog. But now that you mention it."
Lance and I found a separate room. Fortunately he was using his communicator to contact someone in the wolf pack, so I stayed in the bedroom alone. Just as I was trying to figure out how to sneak out and find someone, a sweet smell put me in a trance.
A figure appeared in front of my blurry eyes, with platinum blonde hair and a pale face. What was he doing here? My mind was dizzy with the sweet smell.
"I remember you, Coyote. We met at Eternal Life," Noah's eyes glowed a ghostly red in the darkness. Cold sweat crawled up my back; I had only looked at him then, how on earth did he remember me.
"You're afraid your Alpha will know about this, aren't you? Because he seems like such a control freak." His voice came to my ears, a little low, but with an indescribable allure.
"Don't worry, it's a secret between us." Following the guidance of his voice, I fell into a fantasy space.
"What's happening to me?" My eyes were a black glare, and everything around me was far away.
"Relax." Noah's soft voice was so far away and so close, I couldn't help myself from relaxing at the sound of his voice. I lost the strength to stand and collapsed into his embrace.
Noah took my hand, his cold fingertips pulling my sleeve open. Then he moved my wrist to his mouth, and I saw his fangs slowly sink into my skin as the pulsing in my wrist gradually became slower.
As my hand became cold, his mouth left my wrist. I saw him lick away the blood left on my wrist and the two small holes left by his teeth on my wrist immediately healed.
Then Noah laid me down on a large, soft bed, my body sinking into the warm goose down. His cool yet smooth skin like silk pressed against my arm and the comfort spread through my body.
"It's time for bed." As Noah finished the sentence, my eyelids became unbearably heavy. Wrapped in chaos and sweet warmth, I fell into sleep.
