Alpha's Cursed Luna novel Chapter 45

ALEXANDER

Marching my way into the packhouse belonging to the Blue Mountains pack, I circled my eyes through the hallway, examining the whole place along with the faces of each werewolf who refuses to meet my gaze. Even from a distance I could practically see their bodies tremble and their lips quiver in utter fear.

As I stepped further inside the main hall, I saw a little girl heading to my direction. One look at her sweet face and I felt my heart melt at the sight of pure innocence coming my way. I planned to kneel and receive her in my arms when a woman, who I guessed was the girl’s mother, dragged her away from me. Throwing me nervous glances with eyes filled with extreme fear. I stopped in my tracks. Watching them walk away whilst the little girl’s subtle cries resonated across the hall. Even when I could barely hear the girl’s cries anymore, I couldn’t erase the image of that woman’s fearful eyes off my mind.

I whipped my head and saw the same look in the eyes of other werewolves in my surroundings.

Why are they acting so afraid? I thought to myself, furrowing my brows as I let my eyes roam the place.

‘They have lost confidence…’ Loki whispered, pushing his eyes forward to see these wolves himself. Using my own senses, he sniffed the fear in the air, reeking from their bodies. Each of their faces looked downcast. Hopeless.

A frown covered my face as I looked over every one of them hanging their heads low, as if they are too afraid to fight.

Shoving my wolf to the back part of my mind, I cleared my throat. Somehow the act caused several wolves to flinch in their spots.

“I am looking for a person named Barbara. Does any one of you know her or where she is?” I announced, trying not to make my voice seem too loud or demanding considering their appearance by now.

A few seconds passed in silence when a woman suddenly stepped forward. I whipped my head and eyed her from a short distance. She had shoulder-length raven hair, pale skin and caramel brown eyes, shaped into thin almond with short, thin lashes blinking at me.

I squinted at her, eyeing her up and down.

“Are you Barbara?” I questioned, my voice coming out harsher than anticipated.

She raised her trembling hands, biting her lower lip whilst she looked directly into my eyes.

“N-No, Alpha. My name is Paula and Barbara is my friend. May I ask your purpose for coming to see her?” She asked with obvious excitement evident in her voice. Judging by the look in her face, it was clear she had me in some wild imagination transpiring in her mind.

Folding my arms against my chest, I stared down at her with raised brows.

“No, you may not. I need you to tell me where she is…NOW.”

I grumbled, enough to instill fear into her that made her nod several times.

She pointed her finger to the stairs without tearing her gaze from mine.

“Lead me to her.” I straightened, dropping my hands to my sides. Gulping, she nodded nervously and gestured for me to follow, while the others watched us walk around before disappearing into the hallway.

The guards didn’t stop me, if there was even any. I don’t recall seeing anyone guard the border, the gates, not even the door to the packhouse.

I wonder why no rogues have tried to invade the area. Most of the time, rogues would immediately try to attack a pack, especially when they stumble on a pack which have lost its spirit, unity, and strength. Now thinking of the circumstances of the Blue Mountains Pack now, I highly doubt the rogues had not wanted to waste a good opportunity as this, with the absence of their Alpha and lack of security guards on patrol.

I halted in my tracks when we neared the doors. There were many, yet I could only focus my attention on one door.

“A-alpha?” Paula turned to me with a confused look.

Raising my hand in the air, she immediately took the signal and scurried to the opposite side.

Something in the air smelt vile, it’s sickening. I can vaguely make out the repugnant smell of lust and fear combined in one place.

Through the use of my enhanced hearing senses, I was able to hear a woman squirming behind the closed door. I squinted at the sign which let me know it was the alpha’s office.

Despite the condition of his shaking body, his pride wasn’t letting him back down and cower in defeat just yet. The proud asshole forced a snicker out his lips before randomly spitting blood to the floor. He smiled devilishly, flashing me a gruesome image of his teeth smothered in his own fucking blood.

My stomach churned in disgust although my face was completely devoid of emotions.

“Probably, at least I got to beat the sh*t out of that little slut of yours,” He chuckled, goading me to push past my limits and kill him. I wasted no time and punched him right in the gut. Dropping to his knees, I held both sides of his head, letting him know what was about to come next.

“Say that to me one more time and I’ll break your neck,” I threatened, but goddess knows how dead serious I become when it comes to nasty stuff f*ckers like this guy do to the ones I love.

I can feel his body shudder upon hearing my words.

“You-you can’t fucking do this to me! I’m the beta of this town!” He stuttered out, tumbling over the words while raising his voice. I couldn’t help but revel in the fear which remained clearly evident in his tone.

Leaning down, I whispered, “And I’m the most dangerous Alpha you’ve come across with, beta”

I motioned my hand, about to break his darn neck when,

“Stop!”

I snapped my head up to the direction of a woman’s voice.

“Dada!”

My jaw clenched as the same little girl who came up to me upon my entrance rushed over to the asshole trembling under my tight grip, wanting to embrace him but then stopped when he barked, “Get the f*ck away from me, rascal!”
