"Alpha Maximus," he grimaces.
"Alpha Cal," I beam. I look around the room, "Where's your son?" I ask.
Alpha Cal scoffs, "I'll have him brought to us when I'm ready to have him here," he growls.
"Of course," I smirk, crossing my arms.
"Now tell me why you're here and why I shouldn't kill you right now?" he asks angrily.
"Well, I'm not here for the peace treaty if that's what you're thinking. I know there will never be peace between us," I say to him.
"Then why are you here? What is this so-called “life-changing surprise” you speak of?" he asks.
"Once your son is here, I will show you," I smile.
Alpha Cal yells for the pack warriors to bring Levi up. They drag him into the room with his wrists chained. He looks underweight and haggard, covered in dry and fresh blood.
You can see the emptiness in his eyes. I give him a sympathetic look as he makes eye contact with me.
I'm in shock that Alpha Cal has treated his son this way.
"This is the first time Levi has been allowed out of the dungeon in over eighteen years, so this better be good, Alpha Maximus!" Alpha Cal snaps.
Levi squints his eyes at me as Alpha Cal says my name.
"Your parents tried to save my beautiful mate, my love. She was my whole world," he whimpers.
"I'm sorry they couldn't save her," I say to him.
"I'm sorry my father killed your parents, Alpha Maximus. I am truly so sorry," Levi says.
"Me too," I reply sympathetically.
"This isn't some kind of family reunion! So, I suggest you hurry up with your business before I kill you!" Alpha Cal shouts.
Even though he is old, probably in his late sixties, he is still very clearly strong and well-built.
"Actually, Alpha Cal, that's why I'm here," I smile.
"Are you telling me you're my granddaughter and a half-breed vermin?" Alpha Cal asks.
Hope glares at Alpha Cal, "Well, hello to you too! Grandpa!" she shouts angrily at him.
Alpha Cal bursts into laughter.
After Alpha Cal composes himself, he clears his throat, "You do know you've signed your death warrant by coming here, my dear sweet granddaughter?" he smiles.
Hope laughs, "I'm actually here to sign your death warrant, Grandpa dearest," Hope smiles.
Alpha Cal smirks in thought, "It seems we truly are related. You remind me of myself," he grins.
"I have something I would like to say to you, Grandpa, something that is going to send chills down your spine, something you have heard before," she says to him, and her hands begin to glow.
"I Hope Glint of the Healers Coven curse you, Alpha Cal, for the death of my mother shall be avenged by your own bloodline. The day you see my face again is the day you will die!" Hope says and then swiftly shifts into her wolf, lunging at Alpha Cal.
He pales at her words before shifting into his wolf as Hope lunges toward him. She bites and claws at her grandfather, and he doesn't hold back, biting her in return. Warriors storm into the room and attack Nathan and Alex. We shift and begin ripping the warriors to shreds.
Hope whimpers in pain. I pounce on Alpha Cal, pushing him off of Hope. He snarls and snaps, gripping my neck with his teeth and rips a chunk out.
