Alpha Landon novel Chapter 28

~ Althea

"This in unnecessary," I mutter. Dallas stands on the other side of the bars, giving me a sad look. Maybe he knows deep down I didn't do it. Still, I've had the audacity to lock me up in a prison cell for the night.

"I have to. We have someone to come speak to you tomorrow," he says.

Speak to me? I have nothing to say. I have admitted to murder, and now, I just need to prove that it wasn't actually me, but Kace.

"Quien?" I question. Dallas shakes his head at me, and I realize that I'm not going to find out today. Not knowing is going to eat away at the curious self within me. Is it a forensic investigator or something? Someone to test Cyrus's body to see what had really killed him.

"Sleep Althea. We will speak in the morning," Dallas said, walking toward the door. I let him go without responding. I'm not mad at him of all people.
