I had noticed the shift in Brian way before he did. There was just something about him when I was turning that I didn’t like. He didn’t ooze off bad vibes like the rest and that’s just not what I was looking for in my army. I didn’t want some goody-two-shoes.

There was one like him. The first one I created, but that was a story for another day.

I knew Brian didn’t fit into my plans, so I let him escape. Like I said, I can manipulate other people's thoughts, making them think it’s their own decision. That’s what I did. I directed him to pass through Alec’s pack. I wanted him to get caught. I knew he would get caught.

“I don’t understand,” Blake interrupted my thoughts. “How does Brian being there sow discords”

I turned fully to him. “I can bet Nyx never told Sadie that she had a twin sister because she thought it wasn’t the right time yet.”

Blake’s hands are folded, his brows are drawn together and he nods, showing his interest. Showing that he is following, so I continue.

Rays of sunlight fill the room and I turn to the window to see the clouds clear and the weather back to normal. She must have let go of the bottled-up power and emotions and then lost consciousness.

I close my eyes, feeling the rays on my skin.
