Hansel didn’t sleep well last night and was already sleepy. Yawning, he looked up in time to see Ingrid taking a photo of them. Instantly, his expression turned grim, and he blocked the camera.
Ingrid was stunned. “Dear, it’s our first time going on an overseas trip. Don’t you want to take a photo together?”
“I don’t like taking photos,” Hansel coolly explained. Then, he closed his eyes and rested.
Ingrid bit her lip. At that moment, her excitement died just like that.
The scenery was impeccable. As soon as they alighted from the seaplane, the staff came forward to welcome them.
After they checked into the hotel, the staff helped transport their luggage. Tired, Hansel headed for the elevators. Suddenly, he looked up and saw Sam.
Sam had just come out of the elevator. Blending in with the local customs, he wore a flowery short- sleeved shirt with beach pants of the same color scheme.
Probably thanks to his attractive build and striking looks, he actually looked languidly elegant in that gaudy attire.
Sam also noticed Hansel instantly. He was stunned at first before walking toward Hansel with a half smile. Holding a pair of sunglasses, he looked carefree yet unruly. “Hi there, here on a trip?”
Hansel was emotionless. “Yeah. What a coincidence.”
Sam smiled. “Perhaps it’s… fate? But you’re too slow. I’m here one day earlier.”
At the mention of that, Hansel’s expression turned sour. “Thanks to a certain someone, I was held back by fake information. But you seem to have achieved nothing even though you’re here one day eater.”
Sam was rendered speechless.
Hansel continued, “Do you think she’ll be moved just because you pulled those tricks and even followed her here like a persistent fly? I know her too well. With me around, things will never work out between you
Sam’s gaze turned sullen. He gave Hansel a lopsided smile and looked at Ingrid thoughtfully. “I’ll have to give it a go to find out, right? Humans change. You changed too, didn’t you?”
- do. Go on and enjoy yourself.”
Then, he walked off without even looking back.
Miranda stared at the fox mask she was holding. The carving and artisanship in its design were intricate. Even the eyes looked very much alive.
“Where did you get this? It’s quite pretty.” Miranda looked at Winter curiously.
She tried it on. It only covered the upper half of her face. Surprisingly, it blended in well with the lower half of her face. It was as though they were one.
“The hotel’s organizing a masquerade ball at 8:00 pm. Those who attend are required to wear masks. I purposely chose a fox design for you. Isn’t it pretty?”
Winter glanced at her attire.
Miranda wore a long skirt with red and white stripes. A pearl hairpin held her hair behind her ear while a red pendant dangled by the side of her head. It was captivating and complemented her fox mask really well.
