Back in the borders, the enemies continued to pour in, and Alterrans continued to fight.
However, most of the powerhouses sent had been neutralized already—a good portion of them killed by Althea and Garan—and soon the momentum shifted completely to Alterra’s side.
The Alterran powerhouses soon had their hands freed, dealing with most of the trebuchets still active, and then they could finally help blocking people’s entrances. Except for the breach caused by the dismantled wall, most other sectors did not see new trespassers anymore.
The leaks, though still taking over a sector, were definitely not increasing and were showing signs of stabilization on certain streets, and many were already pushed back.
Many of the streets in the area still hosted several battles, but since Alterrans were already in control, it had become a wheel battle.
Every time an Alterran was injured, they’d just be rescued by others and their positions replaced by others. This way, even if their average levels were lower, they could cope.
Interestingly, some logistics folk also appeared with deliveries. "We got a new, freshly produced batch of poisons from the Center now!"
"Good, good!"
Such good poison naturally did not have a lot of stock, especially after so many hours. Since they had used theirs up early on, they put out a request from the laboratory to produce more. Half a day has passed since, and the next batch has finally arrived.
"Heave ho!!"
The wind users threw the poison bombs on the crowd at random places.
Their form was very good, and random people made some baseball puns.
The batch had several poison and paralysis bombs, though most of them were the ones that would work against people below level 20. The Alterrans threw them towards different areas so the wind users would have trouble neutralizing all of them.
The enemy commander, Besston, cursed, but he wasn’t stupid. From right next to the trebuchet, he gave an order to the wind elementalists.
"Direct it to them!"
Valov really invested in the war. He specifically asked for wind elementalists in the mercenary hall and paid a good price for each of them. So, even after many had fallen, there were still quite a few remaining.
The wind elementalists from Valov, and some from Hassen, were also involved here, many of them beyond the level cap, which was why not all the bombs Alterra threw had an effect.
Together, they created a strong gust of wind that blew the tiny bomb balls back. Even after they exploded, the smoke was kept floating, the direction it would spread out unknown.
"Oh crap, they’re really pushing them here!"
They continued to reinforce the wind with their abilities, and so did Alterrans. The enemy wind users, some of whom were already in the late level 40s, were not weak.
Since the bombs were an external item, even if the ’bounced’ bombs were to kill anyone, the powerhouses wouldn’t get punished, so they had no qualms in taking advantage of enemy technology to deal with them.
Of course, how could Alterrans just let them be? They naturally returned with their own wind attacks.
"Can our wind users cope?"
"Sure!"
Even if Alterrans were weaker, they had practiced various formations countless times. After all, even two elementalists joining forces didn’t necessarily mean 1+1 equals two or more.
