After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1919

Chapter 1919: The Pseudo-elves (Part 2)

"Those with enough elf blood perished—leaving only the most diluted descendants alive, the pseudo-elves."

"According to the records, whether it was the pure bloods or the half-elves, they all dissipated into glimmering dust, combining with the world, ultimately saving it from certain destruction."

"Only those with very, very little elven blood survived, though the first generation of survivors after Elven Extinction died early deaths due to various causes, mostly health-related."

"The pseudo-elves are descendants who could no longer use the powers of the elves, but they could use arrays and were excellent at them. Even the dwarves were no match for pseudo-elves."

"There were various tribes of pseudo-elves left behind; some were recorded, most were not. Generally, after the extinction event, they left and isolated themselves, mostly in contact with just each other for hundreds of years, probably intermarrying among each tribe."

"It was said that, after the lineage gathered enough aether, talent, and bloodline, the elf blood would rise again."

Silence passed by the room, and Zenno paused, allowing them to absorb what he uttered so far. He also hydrated his throat with the lovely tea, taking a few more bites of his snacks.

After chewing down his 5th snack, he continued. "As for what happened some decades ago—one that resulted in the disappearance of the psuedo-elves—it has two widely accepted versions."

"One version was that there was a group of rogue pseudo-elves who hated the fact that they sacrificed, especially those whose family had died just because they had a bit more elven blood in them."

"To be honest, even if this one was true, I wouldn’t blame them. I could only imagine how it’d feel like to see how many humans were still trash."

They must’ve thought: So these are the trash we were sacrificed for.

"Although some would say the elves sacrificed because the world would’ve been destroyed anyway, their bloodline was very strong, and their abilities were mysterious. There was a chance they could’ve survived as a race, though everyone else would’ve definitely died." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"This line of thought, perhaps, festered in certain groups—that the elves had been ’sacrificed’ to save the other races."

"This subgroup of pseudo-elves allegedly destroyed towns and even cities, and many territories grouped together to get revenge on these vigilante pseudo-elves."

"Allegedly, they were all purged."

"The other version was that people wanted the surviving pseudo-elves in their lineage, so they looked for their homes in hopes of mixing blood with them."

"Although technically, this method would dilute the elven blood even more, just awakening a bit of it was a guarantee of having an excellent progeny."

"The remaining pseudo-elves, in this theory, had simply integrated into the population."

"Personally, I think there was truth in both, and perhaps they happened in parallel, or at least some version of them."

In both versions, there was something similar: The final battle that caused the disappearance.

A few decades ago, several cities and their subsidiaries banded together to attack the known tribes. By that time, they did not attack until they got information about all tribes, as if to make sure there was no escape.
